Description TRIVIA (taken from the back of the Tarsier Sanctuary Park's postcard thing):

~ The name "tarsier" was taken from its extremely long tarsius bone. Its hind limbs are twice as long as its body.
~ Their third finger has the same length as their upper arm.
~ Tarsiers are able to rotate their head 180degrees to compensate for their immovable eyeballs.
~ The 2nd and 3rd toes of their hind limbs bear claws instead of nails used for grooming.
~ Tarsiers are the only extant entirely carnivorous primates.
~ Tarsiers are amazing jumpers able to jump 40 times more than its own weight.
~ Young tarsiers are born furred and with open eyes. They are able to climb within a day of birth.
~ Tarsier exhibits the slowest fetal growth rates of any mammal taking six months to reach a birth weight of 23 grams.
~ Scientist differentiate tarsier species through their song and singing styles. Tarsiers do sing in high-pitched voice.

and uh, that's it.
in case you're wondering about the grammar structure, I juz copied it verbatim from the postcard so...yeah, even I have some raised brows reading them trivia but yep they can still be comprehended.^^

Tarsier photos are taken in the Loboc Tarsier Sanctuary/Park, and yep this is the power of the 55-200mm Nikkor zoom lens~~

I don't have a camera

That's why I looking which camera seems to be the best, because my sister will be traveling to the U.S. next week, and supposedly things are cheaper there...

oh, I see. where are you from, originally?^^

and I say if you want a DSLR, either a Canon or Nikon's good.

if you're planning to invest on lenses or planning to buy lotsa lenses, get a Canon instead, my friend. lenses are cheaper in Canon. At most, Canon's a Win-win situation ya know.^^ I chose Nikon coz its ergonomics is the best that I can utilize, that's why. I only have an entry level though.

but as much, if I were to suggest to you, get a Canon~~~

And my sister have already bought a Nikon camera

She says that Canon are good too, but some are not good and very cheap, while very good ones were too expensives XD

wuuu that's awesome tehn~!

what kinda Nikon is that then?^^

and well, yeah that's what I've thought about, too...back then, that the Β XXXD Canons are crap---you gotta need the XXD or XD (two-digit or 1-digit, like the EOS 60D, or 7D for example) for a great Canon~~

that USED TO BE the case,

but with the release of the EOS 600D, Canon proved themselves to the skeptics, ya know. The EOS 600D is like twice or even thrice as good as the EOS 550D, and far better!

that's why I don't settle good for the EOS 550D and its older brothers, while I tip my hat to the 600D and...yeah, juz the 600D. The 650D is JUST the 600D in swivel touchscreen... -_-

anyway, the bottom line goes with, it's not really the camera.

the camera is a tool and gives you 20% of what you can do. The remaining 80% lies in YOU, my friend!^^

(like hey, even if you have those Nikon D4 or Canon EOS 1Dx [those $6000 body only) kind of pro-DSLRs, IF YOU don't know how to use 'em? they're as good as nothing. )

hence my advice: you PRACTICE, learn how to use your Nikon, take pictures of every kind, of every angle, use manual, aperture, and shutter-speed modes; and avoid those preset-modes.

and pretty much, you're gonna be finding yourself in captivation~!

...but that's not a DSLR, right?
DSLRs are the cameras that let you set manually, thus taking your photography-skills to the next frontier~~

you're welcome~~^^ and yeah I saw that this message was like, 2013 ago~~~ ^^ still, that's okay~ ^^

Pyroraptor42 In reply to YS-Liliumsynth [2015-03-01 06:14:43 +0000 UTC]

It can be set manually !

Again, sorry for the late reply XD!

YS-Liliumsynth In reply to Pyroraptor42 [2015-03-03 10:27:08 +0000 UTC]

that must be a "bridge camera" or yep, newer cameras nowadays don't need to be classified as such, they simply have the features to manually made the settings.^^

Pyroraptor42 In reply to YS-Liliumsynth [2015-03-14 01:17:45 +0000 UTC]

Manually and auto XD

YS-Liliumsynth In reply to Pyroraptor42 [2015-03-14 02:33:26 +0000 UTC]

still, nothing beats DSLRs, they have that feel, AND the technically to do the manual settings (most cameras nowadays have circuits for sensors, but DSLRs still use the mirror kind of sensor via reflection and light~~^^

well you get used to it one way or another.^^
I mean, during the time I was still planning what DSLR to buy, I researched/study much of the DSLRs, narrowed down to the choices of: D3100, D5000, EOS 450D, EOS 550D, and well~~yeah, picked the D3100 on that.^^ then knowing some fellow hobbyists also helped, we get to know each other's DSLRs and things like those so~~it's all good. ^^

if I own 'em tarsiers, I'll surely give you one (or two~~ ) but conserved, semi-endangered species like these kind of primates aren't as "pettable" anymore~~~^^

you can still go and see 'em here in the Philippines though.
