This is B5A, so, mangonel and ballistas should be part of the battle. So you can prospect them, maybe even operate

WE had bows and such banned for a while since people we're smuggling real arrows, covered with foam to the battle field...
Just last year they implemented new ranged weapon rules.
Javelins and throwing weapons have been okay.

Dude, that sucks.
The B5A org team also once discovered real arrowheads covered in foam, but it was long time ago and luckily no other incidents in past few years.
Last year I cought a chick who had core part of the arrowhead attached to the shaft by small nail, which is also very idiotic, but she never made it to the play (I help with the ranged weapons checking).

Ah so you had the same problem initially.
Our organizers dealt that they made a uniform arrow type that is so safe that headshots are allowed. Also they lowered the bow drawing weight and also anyone who wants to use a bow must pass an exam to get a certificate and permit from the organizers - you then get a color combination for the arrows and a like a permit you must carry at all times. So very strict about it. So yeah
But arrows ignore armor points and you can aim at their heads (good agains Pavian shields/towershields when only thing youΒ see is a head.)
