Description
This is a speculative skeletal reconstruction of Ruyangosaurus giganteus, the largest described sauropod from East Asia.
The reconstruction follows the Euhelopus body plan, missing elements are restored after Daxiatitan, Yongjinglong, and Euhelopus.
From left to right:
1. Smallest individual with the 145cm humerus
2. Individual scaled to the complete scapulocoracoid, and a small mid-dorsal vertebra. The scapulocoracoid is not discovered in the same quarry, so it may or may not belong to this species.
3. holotype specimen
4. Another individual at the same size as the holotype specimen, which includes most of the referred material.
5. Speculative larger individual scaled to the larger mid to posterior dorsals.
Lastly, no cervical vertebrae of Ruyangosaurus has fused cervical ribs, so these specimens may not represent the maximum size of this species.
