Description The sky was tired, and the sun began to fall into the sleep of night, the clouds reflecting soft colors to lull the morning star to bed.

Axel hugged her, pointing to the fading light on the horizon. "Isn't it beautiful?"

Suddenly, she flinched. "Oh no…" she muttered, her eyes widening. "Sunset!"

"What's wrong?"

"It's sunset and I never even told Xemnas where I was going! I'm going to be in so much trouble! Xemnas is going to kill me…" she hurriedly put on her cloak and dashed through a portal, leaving a baffled Axel behind.

He sighed. "Women."

"Xemnas? Xemnas! Wake up!" she shook him in a futile attempt to wake him. "Xemnas! Wake up! Please!"

She looked around. She had to get help, but from who? Saïx, Larxene and Zexion were all on missions and she didn't know who the others were, let alone where to find them.

"Xemnas, I can't help unless someone is there to tell me what to do!" she sobbed, feeling so feeble and powerless.

'Axel! Maybe he'll know what to do?' she thought. 'No, he's not here either!'

"Damn it! Xemnas! Tell me what to do! I need orders!" she yelled, fully aware she could not be heard, but it made her feel better to yell at him. "I need you to tell me what to do! I can't function without you! Xehanort!" a shiver ran down her spine. Xehanort? Why had she said that? Why was it so familiar?

Xemnas opened his eyes. "K-Kiyux…? What…"

"Xemnas!" she embraced him and sobbed. "I didn't know what to do! I was so scared… I was worried you wouldn't wake up…"

He pet her hair and smiled reassuringly. "It's alright now. Where were you today? I couldn't find you in the castle anywhere."

"I went… to… Twilight Town… to see Ollette…"

"I worry about you, you know. Please tell me where you're going from now on, alright? I was afraid something might have happened to you."

She was tempted to saw Axel had seen up her skirt, but decided against it. "Is it okay if I see her again tomorrow with Axel?"

"Axel? Why with Axel?"

"I ran into him today and Ollette took a liking to him… She wants him to go to the beach with us…"

"No. I'm sorry. I'm sending you out with Saïx tomorrow and Axel is going with Roxas."

"Who?"

"Roxas is Axel's boy-toy. I catch them making out in the halls. It's quite disturbing."
Kiyux stood. "Oh. Roxas… what's his number?"

"Thirteen. But never mind that. Come now, you should go to bed. It's late."

"I… I think I'll take a walk."

"Be careful. Don't get spotted."

'Boy-toy? What does he mean?' she felt a painful emptiness within her. There was no way…

"Kiyux! Did Xemnas give you hell about today? You don't look injured…" Axel ran up to her. "But what are you doing roaming around the castle at night? The others might find you here…"

"I lied to Xemnas."

"Really?" he broke out in a grin. "Wow! I didn't think you had it in you! Rebellion is pretty cute on you. I like it."

"Don't take it the wrong way. Lying to him felt so terrible. I only lied so he wouldn't be worried."

He put a hand on her shoulder. "You get used to it," Axel kissed her and she turned away.

"Stop it," she didn't want to get used to lying. She didn't want to be in trouble. And she didn't want Axel to touch her.

"But you love when I kiss you…" he muttered.

"Axel, STOP."

His smile faded as she pushed him away. "But…"

"I can't believe I fell for you. You're a real character, Axel. It really was foolish of me to believe you when you said you loved me. Xemnas was right all along about you. But that's what's so amusing. It was a great joke. Really grown-up," tears formed in her eyes.

"What do you mean, 'joke?'"

She wiped her tears. "It wasn't good enough to have one under your belt? The second was necessary? Or does that one sleep with you?"

"Kiyux, what are you talking about?"

"I'm not your precious Roxas! Got it f***ing memorized?!" she surrounded herself in ice and lightning pulsed through the frozen water.

She threw out her hand, shattering the ice, the shards hitting Axel.

Kiyux took advantage of her chance, quickly turning and running back to Xemnas' room and locking the door behind her. She approached the bedroom and knocked softly. "Xemnas?"

The door opened and Xemnas tilted his head. "Kiyux? What's wrong? You're crying…"

She embraced him tightly and sobbed. "Xemnas…"

"Shh… Let's get you more comfortable, okay? Do you want to take a warm bath?"

She shook her head.

"Why don't you go get changed and I'll tell you a story?"

"Okay…" she stepped into the other room and put on a pale yellow nightgown before returning to the bed, curling up closer to Xemnas. "Thank you…"

"Do you want me to tell you a story?" he asked, receiving a nod of agreement from her.
`````
"Ow!" there was the sound of shattering glass. "Oh no…"
"Is everything alright?" he called.
"Fine!" she hurriedly tried to pick up the remnants of the test tube. "Ouch!" she squeaked as a piece cut her.
"You should know better than that," the silver-haired man took her hand and rinsed her bleeding fingers in the sink.
She winced in pain as the icy water ran over her hand.
"You have burns."
"I know… I'm sorry," she squeaked again, trying to pull back.
He kissed her cut softly. "You need to be more careful. Don't pick up broken glass with your hands."
"I didn't mean to break it… I'm sorry-"
"Don't be. It was an accident. I'm just glad you weren't badly hurt. Be more careful next time."
He swept up the glass and led her into the other room. She looked down sadly.
"What's wrong?"
"I'm useless as an assistant. I keep making stupid mistakes."
"Don't say you're useless. You're a great help, even if you make mistakes from time to time. That just makes you human. You're far-"
`````
"'-more helpful than you realize. Every day, when I wake up, your smile is what inspires me. Do you wish to know a secret?'" Kiyux opened her eyes. She had finished the line for him, but could not recall ever hearing it before. "Oh… I didn't mean to…"

"Kiyux. Tell me what the secret is. Close your eyes and feel the words. What was his secret?"

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. A rush of incomplete images flashed before her eyes. They eventually settled upon a pair of tan lips mouthing something… Kiyux looked up at Xemnas. "You are my world."

He embraced her tightly. "Good girl…" he ran his fingers across her lips. "Get some sleep."

She lay down beside him. "How did I know that?"

Xemnas hushed her. "We can discuss this another time. You have a mission to attend to in the morning."

"But Xemnas!"

She was silenced by a kiss on her forehead. "Shh… Hush now."

He turned off the light and rolled to face away from her. She gazed at his silhouette in the darkness. "Good night."

"Sleep well, Kiyux."
`````
"Are you alright? You seem… angry," concern filled her eyes.
He looked at her, his expression softening at the sight of her face. "I'm just frustrated."
"Please don't be. When you're happy we go for a walk on Thursday, but if you're upset you don't even eat dinner with me. And you yell at me if I try to talk to you at home… I don't like when you get angry at me.
"I'm sorry. The experiments from the lower department are taking much longer than expected. Forgive me."
"But look at it as a good thing!" she giggled. "It tells us we need to look back and find any data we missed! Isn't it better to know we overlooked something this way rather than someone getting hurt in a failed experiment?"
"You are always to bright and cheerful. I never did anything good enough to earn an angel like you."
`````
"Kiyux. Wake up…"

"Nn…" she blinked awake and looked down. "An angel?"

"Kiyux, you must hurry. Saïx will be here soon and if he finds you sleeping in my bed, he will not hesitate to kill you. You need to prepare for your mission. Hurry, now!"

Minutes later, she stepped forward in her cloak and saw Saïx waiting for her. "Saïx."

"Brat."

"Mutt."

"Weakling!"

"Dog face!"

"Stop it, both of you! Saïx, please grow up a little. Kiyux, Saïx will escort you back at sundown. Axel and Roxas will be scouting the area as well. Saïx, you are free to coordinate that however you wish. Be careful."

Kiyux walked over to Xemnas. "Farewell."

He kissed her forehead. "Take care."

"Yes, sir."

Saïx violently grabbed her wrist and yanked her through a portal, a low growl escaping his throat.
