Despite they being fish, i kinda of think they look like the shinidamachu (soul collectors) from inuyasha.

Your `guardian of the spirits´ is wonderful, mysterious, inspiring - and, yes, I agree with the comment from February that this guardian could also pass as Erestor, chief counsellor of Elrond Halfelven (Master of Imladris = Rivendell). They are characters of J.R.R. Tolkien´s `Lord of the Rings´, elven of high rank and long tradition in healing (Elrond) and elven lore (Erestor). I can imagine that you would like these characters, too. Elrond was a warrior in his younger years and fought in famous battles.
To think of Erestor of the House of the Circling Raven when looking at your picture, makes sense. But I wonder about the goldfish and the moon (it is the moon, is it?)... sorry, dear artist, I lack the knowledge of your culture.

Oh my word, I actually found this...
There was some girl on Fanfiction that did a fanvideo of Erestor from The Lord of the Rings, she used this picture in there and I was enthralled with it! I truly thought that it was some random picture off of google, and that I would never find the real artist! But, I was browsing your gallery when I found this...

demon isn't really suiting, she doesn't seem malicious, but, in some ways, english can be a very limiting language. With all the prejudice that is wrongfully applied to people in general, Demon is an appropriate word, not by written definition but by common perception. I really like words, if you can't tell

Mmm. Spirit would probably be a closer analogy, really, most Chinese 'demons' appear more fae/spirit (in the american indian vein) like than anything else.
