Can you clarify the last statement of directing the LockBackground.html to the springboard.app? Still can't get the lock screen background to work

Ok use iFile to go the the Lockbackground.html and open it in text viewer. Scroll down towards the bottom of the list and look for these line
width="320" height="480" src=" /private/var/mobile/Library/Springboard/LockBackground.png "> | Make sure you edit your line with the src=" to look like the one I showed above. This redirects it to where you will be putting your image for the LockBackground
Now use ifile and navigate to var/mobile/Library/Springboard and copy whatever png you want to this folder. Then just rename that .png to LockBackground.png and it will now work

The src=" line will be a little different because it was directed to a different place on ios 4.0.1. Just change it to look like private/var/mobile/Library/Springboard/LockBackground.png exactly. I think this is about 3/4 of the way down when you open it in text viewer

Ok I just downloaded the original theme and all you need to change is the .jpg to .png in the lines above and then add the picture you want for the LockBackground to the directory I showed above.

Ok now it works like it did on ios 4.2.1 Weird. Just use the same method for directing the LockBackground.html to the springboard.app

Ok I just checked and it seems that you just need the Layer.png to make it work

Woody6866 [2012-01-24 20:41:40 +0000 UTC]
Ok Guy I got it to work. If you had it working on ios 4.2.1 then all you have to do is go into the theme and instead of placing the wallpaper you want in the Springboard app which it use to be LockBackgroud, just pic that same picture and rename it to Layer.png and do another one and name it Layer Move2Unlock.png. Just place those to pic in the folder. It works for me now so hopefully it helps you

Slide to unlock I could never get to work. I installed a separate slider package sliders_iphone-3 which gives a completely clear screen. (I cannot remember where i found the slider but big thanks to whoever made it)

Background problems:
Ssh into device and open lockbackground.html. Look down for where it points to the LockBackground.png - This has to point to var/stash/Themes.xxxxxx/Simplicity 24hr + weather/Lockbackground.png.
The themes.xxxxx is unique for each iphone so change accordingly.
Also then add new lockscreens by changing your chosen wallpaper to LockBackground.png and copy it in this same folder.
Thanks Yuelao!! Great theme!

I cannot get this lock screen to work.
iOS 4.2.1, iPhone 4. Lockscreen Clock Hide is installed, enabled.
1. I have two timestamps sitting one over the other, and they're both active. I've tried commenting out everything I can think of logically, and it results in either no clock or both clocks. Ideally, I wish to have 12 hour time with weather.
2. I cannot get it to display a background. It wont do my background from my camera roll nor a custom cropped one placed into a variety of places, with the .html updated to point to this.
And as a side note, the .html file in all 4 download links is identical.
Please, help.

Confirmed it doesnt work on 4.2.1. The wallpaper doesnt show now and there is some bar that flashes behind the clock. It worked perfect on 4.0.1. Please update to work with 4.2.1. Best lock screen clock out there. I miss having it

Works very well on 4.2.1
Go into the LockBackground.html in notepad.
Do a simple search "/private/var/mobile/Library/Springboard/LockBackground.png"
You can just do that and reroute from Springboard to your own folder.
EX:"/private/var/mobile/Library/LockScreens/LockBackground.png"
Either ignore that part or do it. As long as you can get into your ipod/iphone. You want to have a background placed in it, name "LockBackgound.png". With a 380x420 size.

im a little confused. Do i copy my own LockBackground.png into your folder? I tried that but it still doesnt work. Do i have to add something to the LockBackground.html?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
MasterTWolf In reply to Woody6866 [2011-02-11 23:15:50 +0000 UTC]
Yeah. Any 380x420 picture you want. It has to be that size.
My example is how I set the fold path for my background. As to not interfere with the springboard folder.
Just open up the html with notepad or whatever text editor you use.

My problem is I don't know what to change in your HTML. I want to use a retina display wallpaper which is I think 640 x 960 or something like that. It worked before when I was on 4.0.1 but something has changed with fw 4.2.1 and I don't know how to change it. Help please.

MasterTWolf In reply to Woody6866 [2011-02-12 15:52:33 +0000 UTC]
Let's see. I would suggest going for a 380x420 for now. Name it background.png and throw it in the springboard folder.
Use this lockscreen and thread for a example. this is how I figured out how to do it. Plus I'm really horrible at explaining like this.

i got it to work. What I did was just changed your LockBackground.html path tha led to LockBackground.jpg and changed it to LockBackground.png and then I just added the Wallpaper I wanted into the actually file in the iphone4 and named it LockBackground.png since fw 4.2.1 removed it. I know have retina lockscreen wallpaper with your lockscreen.
