The first thing I thought of when I saw this piece for Vivien Leigh, Streetcar Named Desire. It has a wonderful delicacy to the lines and direction in which the different parts of the body are shaded: the way in which the light hits the lesser half of her visage really detracts from any potential harshness that the darker lines might give.I enjoy the fact that there is a kind of faint illustration on the backdrop. While this does not create a cohesive context into which the character has been placed, it prevents her from existing in a vacuum. The eyes and pursed lips seem to offer a bit of conflict between delicacy and a kind of paranoia or anxiety that is seizing the character - I love it, personally! My only point of concern with the whole piece is how the light and shape behind her neck almost seems to form the shape of her right shoulder and, if it is taken to be mimicking that, it sets her torso at a rather strange alignment to her face.Nevertheless, I think it is a beautiful piece. I'll be favouriting it, if you don't mind..! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>
