Actually, 30 of may is anniversary of her death, so I'm just in time to fav this amazing artwork - it is really stunning; especially those colors!

When I think of a fantasy warrior woman (the group I saw this through), this is exactly what comes to mind. Β You've obviously nailed realism and moved past it to capture a style reminiscent of romantic and Victorian paintings (like Waterhouse's Lady of Shalott or Millais' Ophelia ) with softer edges that gives it a decidedly unique flair. Β It's probably my favorite of your drawings I've looked through, because you capture so much here. Β Her heavenly calling is depicted in her head tilted up and the clouds that come down to surround her. Β She's not afraid to be at the forefront of the battle, her pose just barely pushing forward as she stands before her men β clearly a general. Β Yet she has a wistfulness that, for me, belies her sacrifice (and is a big part of what makes it feel romantic to me). Β This is the kind of painting I would hang in my house.

The men in the back are a little washed out and kind of look like clones, but they are just background filler anyways, so I suppose thatβs to be expected. The colours are also very nice.Β

I admire the way you draw her expression, her sense of calling, while looking up the heavens. Her pose expresses both courage and vulnerability. Unlike the armoured figures behind her, she doesn't look rigid, but full of life.
