yep - and just now i remember, that i once had the chance to watch litlle longeared owls, when i was ten years old - we lived in a tiny village out in the moor and a friend of mine had seen them in a small group of trees across the street where he lived - i got permission from my parents to stay up longer so we could watch them - and then we saw them sitting on a branch of a tree: two fluffy grey feather balls and their parents flew around, hunting and feeding them whenever they caught something - i am 61 now, and you can see, i still havenΒ΄t forgotten that thrilling experience...

Yes, the link works.
And WOW, I totally understand your feeling. The first time when we encountered wildlife was always unforgettable. Now I always try my best to take my little one outside, into the wild and hope that he will have the exciting experience when he meets any wild animal passing by. ^_^

yep - and let it be just a little mouse that you can watch: when itΒ΄s out in nature, itΒ΄s a complete different thing than animals at home or in a zoo - back in the day we had a very good teacher, who often went outside with us and who showed us animals, birdΒ΄s calls, plants, mushrooms a.s.o. - two years ago i visited him to say thank you for those experiences and he is an old white haired man now, but still mild and friendly, just as i remember him...
this weekend my brother was here and he showed me photos on his mobile, which he had taken around his place: three owls, exactly like the ones i had watched with my friend, crazy?
i always went outside with my daughter when she was little - now she is 16 and is glued to her smartphone - but iΒ΄m sure, she will come back to what i showed her when she is older...
she has sharp eyes and can spot the tiniest animal...
and here is one of my photomanips...

This is fantastic. The lines in the face, the whites and greys for that downy look is so well done. Takes a lot of patience and understanding of the textures. I'm very impressed!
