To put it simply, Zeram is just… weird. Well, his talking habits anyway, though his actions aren’t much better. Due to his nature and original form, Zeram developed an odd speaking habit where either a word gets replaced with a complete different word, though in most cases it has a relevance to what he’s saying; or… he just makes no sense in the slightest. Luckily though, he tends to stick with certain words that get used in replacement for example: “Maybe” has been permantly replaced with “Meerkat” and vice-versa. Oh, and he thinks that everyone totally understands what he’s saying so good luck trying to get him to explain what he’s talking about.
How he acts on the other hand? He runs off impulses or urges is probably the best way to describe it. If he wants to say “hi” he will, jump on someone’s back out of the blue? He’ll do it, sit in a hole he’s just dug in the middle of the conversation? He’ll do it. In fact, Zeram will practically do anything if he either wants to, feels like doing it or been asked to.
Other than that, It's best to say he's still trying to get a grasp on being... well, trying to be 'normal' like his type. Having lived as a simple A.I for so long and only recently been given the programming he needed to at least have a freedom of emotion, has made him literally burst with emotions. So he can be easily hurt, angered, happy, energetic etc. and will easily show it... Though... he can be a bit... slow at first... On the other hand, towards people he will either 'befriend' them, or be 'suspicious' of them, especially bird Pokemon.

Being a Porygon, Zeram of course was artificially made in a lab. Though after an incident, some of them left the lab and got sent to either underground markets, as prizes in arcade stores or even to other labs. In any case, Zeram here fell into the hands of it’s new ‘owner’ Luke after winning a Pokeball at the Arcade slots.
Now Luke here was your everyday Sci-Fi/Gadget fan who unlike most kids his age, wasn’t a huge fan of venturing out with a group of Pokemon at your belt. No, he’d rather sit inside and either read some scientific magazine or be at his computer to keep up to date with the latest Sci-fi genre series. Of course, he was quite surprised when on a regular visit at his local arcade one day to waste some time he ended up winning on the arcade slots game, and even more surprised to find that the prize ended up being a Pokeball. He wasn’t ‘that’ excited about winning it but at the end of the day, a prize was a prize and no sooner had he ran home with it, went to check out what exactly he had won. This was when the Porygon was awakened for the first time, having been sleeping this entire time in it’s ball. And so, this is where Zeram’s life began.
Is what I would like to say but, nothing much really happened at the beginning. The Porygon usually just spent it’s time roaming around this new room it lived in, observing things, trying to figure out what certain objects were, or following simple instructions that it’s new ‘owner’ asked of it. Of course, it didn’t take a genius to figure out that this Porygon, despite seeming to co-operate normally was lacking…something? It just seemed that everything it did was just… basic, like it still needed something more. In comparison to other Pokemon that were shown on the screen or the wild ones seen outside, Porygon just seemed so artificial.

Zeram’s ‘owner’ couldn’t have been more correct. Though despite realizing this, it wouldn’t be until several years later when information started to pass around about an ‘upgrade’ that had become available to people who got their hands on the same Pokemon. It was said that this new ‘upgrade’ would make Porygon into a better Pokemon than it was now with more brains, speed, power, and also having a new A.I installed in it to give the Pokemon more life. It did sound pretty interesting, but what made Luke here obtain the ‘upgrade’ was down to some information that had been posted on the net. A report going on about how this new form, also known as Porygon2 was designed for space exploration. In other words, travel to outer space. You know as soon as that report was read, the ‘upgrade’ was ordered within the next few seconds being a Sci-fi fan and all. And this is where the dream of space exploration began for both Luke, and Zeram.
With the ‘upgrade’ obtained, Zeram evolved into it’s newer, smoother and smarter Porygon2 form. Now before the plan to send Zeram into space began, first, it had to learn all about outer space and everything extraterrestrial. And what better way to learn all about it then to sit at it’s owners computer and be introduced to all the series he’d ever watched related to Aliens, Space, FBI, UFOs, Space Travel you name it, it all seemed to be drilled into this Porygons2’s database, and where the urge to encounter an Alien started to form in it’s coding, something that wasn’t originally programmed and this was how life went on for the next few years of it’s life.
There was one problem though… No matter how much they watched and read and watched again, there was still the problem of how to actually get Zeram up into space. Since Luke found out pretty quickly that even though the Porygon2 could float, it couldn’t learn Fly, and he wasn’t exactly made of money to buy a huge rocket. It seemed that all hope of sending Zeram up to space was lost. That was, until a rumour was spreading around the internet about a certain ‘Disc’ could help make it capable of “travelling to alien dimensions” or as the rumour put it anyway. Luke here couldn’t let this opportunity slip at the slim chances of this being true, after all, rumours have to start somewhere.
It took weeks and weeks and months until Luke’s research paid off and discovered where to obtain the said ‘disc’, or at least a copy of it and had it sent to his house immediately. With the new ‘disc’ in hand, Zeram was ready to evolve yet again into it’s latest form, Porygon-Z and the dream of being sent to space was once again revived.

Yes, there did seem to be a few… quirks in Zerams actions now that was never there before, like doing summersaults in the air, acting weird and making noises constantly at either Luke or at the Monitor during an episode, which he just passed off as Zeram trying to talk to the people in the screen. He had read that some people who had also obtained this ‘disc’ seemed to have made their Porygon-Z show strange actions as well, including a violent shake that lasted for periods of time, though it seemed Zeram was showing no signs of this so called ‘shaking glitch’. Maybe Zeram was lucky, or maybe another error not easy to notice happened instead? In any case at least this new form of Zeram was much livelier than it was at the beginning.

It seemed that Zeram was now ready to head up into space, all that was needed was something to help the Porygon-Z with it’s vision as it headed up their so that it wasn’t blinded by the sun. After all it would be no good heading up there if Zeram itself couldn’t see a thing. This was where Zeram was handed a custom made visor that had been kept away in Luke’s collection for who knows how long that funny enough, despite the strange handle/strap part, it practically matched the Porygon-Z’s colour theme. Now fully prepared, the two headed outside in their back garden where Luke gave simple commands to Zeram that if any Alien life was found, to come straight back with evidence. And so up Zeram went (with the help of several helium balloons) high up into the clouds, past the wild bird Pokemon with hopes of reaching outer space! Or so we thought. A flock of Pidgeots soon put an end to that dream as Zeram was knocked out by the huge birds and unknowingly crashed back down to earth.

Upon awakening, the Porygon-Z found itself surrounded by a huge swarm of Dunsparce, they were everywhere, looking as if they were about to tackle Zeram as it stared back at them all. It seemed that it had fallen straight into a Dunsparce habitat, and that the crash alerted the species out of the ground. To them this was an intruder who entered their home without permission, to which they will determine if it's a friend or a foe. What made things worse for Zeram was the fact that the Porygon-Z hadn’t really been taught about other Pokemon species, or rather, wasn’t really introduced to many, and the fact that it had no recollection of crashing back down to earth meant that in Zeram’s mind, it had flown out into orbit and crashed on another planet. And so, to Zeram, these Dunsparce species must be a type of Alien raced Pokemon that right now, looked like they were about to attack it. Yeah, most Pokemon would think more logical but… well the glitches in Zeram’s database wasn’t helping with the matter. Seems that Zeram wasn't quite prepared as it thought it was with having first contact with 'Aliens' and with the Dunsparce edging closer towards it, wanting to get a look at the creature that had fallen out of the sky, Zeram just followed it’s urge or rather... what it seemed to be recalling everyone in the shows do in a situation similar to this which was… to run. And so the Porygon-Z hightailed it straight out of there.

Now lost in this strange ‘unknown planet’ or so it had registered in it’s database, Zeram floated for miles and miles across the barren dirtland until it floated upon a place… a building to be accurate. Finding a way inside, Zeram found that there was other aliens strange Pokemon here too, there must be a reason why they were grouping here and so the Porygon-Z decided to wait with them in order to get a report on what was happening. One of them seemed to be going on about how all they have to do is “dream” or so they had been told by the owner of this place. But before it could get more information, Zeram was scooted along like all the other strange pokemon here towards a bed by a Woman for some reason and was told to get some rest and have a nice nap. Zeram was a bit… drained of power and so opted to take a nap like the Woman said with the thoughts that maybe next time… it should try disguising itself as one of those ‘Alien-Dunsparces’ to have a better 'first encounter' and hopefully investigate them at a closer level and get more information on them. Even maybe have a chance to explore more of this ‘strange’ planet. But for now… it should recharge it’s energy and sleep and maybe dream of future alien encounters.

• EXTRAS:
-Like mentioned before, Zeram has odd speaking habits due to some words having being overwritten in his programming after evolving into a Porygon-Z

-Due to being so used to floating around, it’s not uncommon to see him trying to backflip or go across water and such. Of course this never goes well.

-Can hover in the air for a few seconds thanks to his wings, but only about 2ft off the ground

-Digs using his tail only, no hands needed.

-He does in fact have a forked tongue tinted blue like the rings around his neck

-Seems to go on and on about aliens but whether or not he finds them a friend or foe is hard to tell.

-Acts even weirder around bird-like Pokemon. He believes their 'Messengers from Aliens' due to the collision with them before his 'landing' on the planet and the fact that he doesn't recall anything after that other then waking up on the 'strange land'.

-He's pretty clueless as to any gender-related issues having been originally genderless himself which could sometimes cause problems.
