In Greece it is called Pita Gyros (Pita means pie in Greek and Gyros means "one turn around") it is called like that because the meat it contains it is roasted in a pile that is turning round and round.
The food looks like that

Basically it is meat and fried potatoes but it can contain practically anything, such as tomato, onion ketchup and some people like it with jajiki (a greek sause that has as base yogurt and garlik) and it is wrapped with something like arabic pie or tortilla.
The meat is baked and cut in piles like thisΒ fruitandcake.com/wp-content/upβ¦
It is not food for some celebration. It is practically...greek fast food
