It happened to me a lot when I started doing shadow raid alone. I suggest facing the ladder when going to canals.

Thats happened so many times as well cause ladder mechanics are poorly implemented. especially if you're rushing :C Then coincidentally people are on the other side of the map, and you go into custody.
