As a note to anyone who only favorited one of the pages of this so they could follow it without watching this account: I understand why you did it; you didn't want a flood of non-YGO/Game of Dreams stuff. But this account is active for the sole purpose of posting this future-story and the subsequent nexgen. Stuff I post here ONLY has to do with that nexgen's continuity. And I'm notoriously poor at keeping the pagelists up-to-date, so it'd really be easier just to watch this account. If at any point you don't want to read the comic anymore, go ahead and unwatch it. You won't hurt my feelings.

One question here...
Is this supposed to be Joey talking (or thinking to himself) or the author/authoress? Just wondering.

It's the narrator, who in my mind is actually Yugi. (There's a story later where Mokuba declares that he will be narrating for the duration of the story; in the sketch comics at least he quips that Yugi says his voice is tired. That one is also a lot more narration heavy.)
That's also why Yugi's thoughts on several pages are in boxes instead of thought bubbles.
The main reason I chose to do that was because, if you pay attention, Yugi is usually the narrator in the manga (when there is one.) I couldn't tell you if it means Yugi is telling someone else this story later.

This comic is one of the most delightful finds I have discovered! My policy is to read AND comment, so you can expect a lot more comments from me... once I get time.
:embarrassed: I feel ever so silly about this page, because I read about half of the comic before I realized what happened here. I did NOT get what was going on at all, though it is rather obvious.
City. Guy walking down street. Car. Guy stepping off street. Guy looking up startled.
Whyyy did I not understand?
I really liked Joey's face, though--very expressive 'frozen' and wide-eyed. The car is quite good too, and I love the heighlights in the greyscale comic. Gives it a dark, intense feel. Not to mention that marvelous quote! Did you make it up, or did you read it somewhere before? A fantastic beginning.
