Speedpaint. Kinda depressed, need some de-stress, monochrome ftw. Innerbalance is something i need at the moment. Wish i could just sit in the grass and listen the whispering wind. Wish i could.Paint tool Sai & Wacom intous 3
Edit: for the subject, it's my FFXI character, Kogenta, as i imagine her on her training to become a Samurai

The Achromatic look also presents a mood as well that also adds to the composition.

i don't use special brush set, this brush is the default one avaible for paint tool sai. the keypoint of this render is to use white strokes to correct black strokes and not the eraser, it looks more natural this way
like, for the hands. first was just black there, and with white i modelled the hands starting from black base. then again i used black to correct and model better. so again white if needed, and so on.

^^ What an interesting technique! I will definitely try this. Did you draw the images with the pen tablet, or did you scan them in?
Also, did you start out by filling the whole figure black? So that it looks like a silhouette?

No when i do these speedpaint i just grab the tablet and start drawing directly in Sai, is just to relax and express something i feel immediate.
For the silhouette, i start with the classic figure construction and outline, then i fill black what i want to be mostly black and to light later with white strokes (like the hairs). Is hard to explain, cause i don't think about it too much when i draw, i use my own sensibility and perception of the image to decide what color to use when.

I think we all could use some inner balance once in a while , granted if it was quiet around me I would worry that the kids where doing something they shouldnt be doing
