Description
I guess this is what happens when you're a sane person who tries to escape an insane asylum. What ended up happening was Jem and Violet's tutor was helping them escape from the asylum. They got caught however, and Jem and Violet were injected with a sedative. When Violet woke up, the nurses and doctors constantly tried to convince her that she was crazy. Violet refuses to believe these people, she knows that she isn't crazy, however, with the doctors special therapy, that may change.***
Doctor: You have MPD ( Multiple personality disorder )
Father: You're an only child. Jem doesn't exist.
Violet: LIAR! I know i'm not crazy!
Doctor: Can I talk to Alex?
Violet: There is no Alex! There's only me!
Doctor: May I talk to Jem then.
Violet: Do you see her? She isn't her, you took her away!
Doctor: If you pass this special therapy, then I'll admit you're not crazy.
Violet: Then I will, i'm perfectly sane.
These are just some dialogs that I remember.
The special therapy the doctor was talking about was water therapy, which makes the most sane people insane

Mhmm. the hospital does illegal practices, so long story short, they can't let anyone leave, otherwise they'd be in big trouble with the law
