I surprised myself with how quickly I finished my first two meme request drawings. For those of you who don't know about it, there's a meme going around where if you comment in the specified DA user LJ they'll do a request drawing for you. The catch is that you have to do the same thing as they are and do 10 requests for 10 different people. Go to the link for more information: [link] Please read through it carefully first before you decide to respond to it.Since was the one that got this whole thing started and she posted a link to her picture first I did her request, a picture of her lemming character Darak. (You can see the original picture of him Dai did here: [link] ) I think I did pretty good considering this is supposed to be just a simple sketch. I don't really care for how I did the axe but I really like how shiny the blood looks.
I hope this just skirts the edge of PG-13 since even if there's an axe in Darak's head you can see he's okay, folks!

Eee, wow, that was fast! XD I'm gonna start on mine during the weekend, since I have a bit of work to do by Friday.
You did such a great job on this, especially with his irritated expression. And, for the life of me, I continue to envy how you can get hair to look so perfectly silky while retaining your usual level of 'simplicity.' Everything just looks -right-. Blood's a bit thick (it doesn't actually flow -too- freely anymore), but is otherwise really, really well-rendered.

Thanks! I'm glad you approve. When drawing this I sort of had the image in my head that this was after a bath. If I had captioning for these requests I probably would've put something like, "Darn axe keeps ruining all my good clothes." or something. After all when a clotted wound is opened up again, even if by washing, the blood flows kinda thick for a while. That and I like thick blood. I just planned on a trickle or two but then I went nuts with it and found it made his hair look all nice.

It's a pretty long, complicated story. In summary, his 'brother' threw the axe during a fight and neither he nor Darak were expecting that opponent to have the mental capacity to duck. Why the axe is STILL in his head is where the story gets convoluted. Hopefully that bare-bones explaination is enough to warrant the expletive. ;] He's pretty pissed about it, too.
