I'd really like to know why there's a dove perched on the woman's shoulder, and why the guy with red hair is wearing a rosary, if they're supposed to be on the inside.

This is not related to my religious view. However, sure, I arranged Chiristians' motifs here and there. Although I'm an atheist, I try to understand other religion, so I read bible, new bible and the Apocrypha (a long time ago, though).

Yes, but not concrete as novels. The inside and the outside are different worlds. The former is of love and lust. The latter is of pureness and divineness. Two men and a woman on the right bottom are in kind of a love triangle.

It wasn't so much they look identical (in my head, obviously), than your picture kinda captured an essence I associate with them in the period of their lives when they were together.
