Lookie me all manry with my purple parasol LOLA quick preview of my Kenshin cosplay from last weekend's Fall Cosplay Picnic. IT WAS FREEZING, you can't tell here but my hands were ice blocks.
I AM SO HAPPY TO FINALLY COSPLAY ONE OF MY FIRST ANIME CRUSHES. Kenshin will forever be near and dear to my heart. One of the best manga/anime series ever, seriously ;___;

I think the OVA was a huge impact on me just because I watched the whole RK series before the OVA >_< But yeah, an old show and often forgotten ;___;

It's definitely worth a try, not everyone will like it due to the lower quality and time setting, but I personally felt it was a phenomenal series

Yes, there are OVAs but I don't count them. I keep them separate from the TV series.
However, there was at least two lost episodes that were poorly made and was never shown on TV in Japan.

I think it only went up to 92 episodes? Maybe you covered them all? The anime ends rather abruptly, doesn't even cover the last arc of the manga

yep, there was 90 something eps which was the main series that covered the first and second arc. Then there's the OVA which talks about Kenshin's past. And another OVA which takes place after all 3 arcs in the manga. I watched EVERYTHING (minus the last OVA b/c i will bawl if I watch it) and I read ALL the manga chapters <--I was so obsessed lawl

I actually prefer the anime slightly more than the OVA just cuz the OVA is so depressing, but the storyline is so good <3

I guess I preferred OVA just because it was a bit more mature. My likes in anime have very large contrast, I like things like FLCL on one side — buckets of nonsense — and things like Neon Genesis or Gantz — a more mature and intense watch. I found the kenshin series to be a bit repetitive and silly... Personal preference )) heh

lol, I watched it like 5/6 years ago so I wasn't quite as mature XD But I remember it was like going on a journey with him because of how long the series was, it left a huge impact on me and I really admired Kenshin lol.
But yeah, I watch a variety of stuff now too XD
