I was very fortunate to take a cruise on the magnificent QE II forty two years ago for my 16th birthday. We sailed out of New York at 9pm, past the Statue of Liberty and on to Nassau in the Bahamas on a seven day cruise.  We had a room with two double beds with a window on the port side.  I remember the ship towering above the buildings at the dock and stretching the entire length.  This was a true ocean liner, nothing like the Disney Parks afloat that you see today. When we got to the Bahamas, we had to anchor at sea and take tenders into Nassau. I stayed on the island about a half day and made my way back to this majestic city afloat. Yes, I am reminiscing. 
I spent the entire rest of my time getting to know and mingle with the staff, which was really a lot of fun that I remember fondly till this day. Actually the reason that I looked it back up on the internet in the first place. I hate to think of it spoiling away in Dubai, but that's the way things go. It is a shame that future generations cannot experience this lady like I and so many others have in the past.
