Well, I interpret it as being symbolic of the implicit faith in the military industrial complex (Raytheon here in this as the example), Like how the baphomet (which the "core" reminds me of) is symbolic of (as described by Eliphas Lévi, the man behind the most famous depiction of the baphomet) the implicit faith in the astral light.
