Yes I've already bought, played and beaten Pokemon Mystery Dungeon; Gates to Infinity! I even evolved my members, took me a while and had to get a DLC dungeon (YOU GET PMD red/blue and PMD time/darkness/sky MUSIC WITH THEM OMFGEKGJ)If you couldn't figure out on your own; (what with the similarities and all~) My team was Nova the Pikachu/Raichu and Ryo the Snivy/Servine/Serperior. Often on missions I bring Fuu/Samurott, Mei Zhen/Mienshao or Inari/Zoroark with me. <:
I gotta admit, some things really f*cking pissed me off with this game.
First and formost; lack of genders. Why can't we be female and have female partners what is this bullshit. Upon searching it up though I discovered you can't change that. So I decided to just ignore it. So through the game Nova was a male Pikachu (I just ignored it) and Ryo was referred to as a he (i just pretended it said she). Idk I guess it's not a big deal though, I mean the Pokemon's genders do not appear on their status pages and the only enemies that even use attract on you are Swoobats and maybe Woobats, and you can't even see their genders anyway so really I think they were just intending on like.. 'no genders'. Then why did the damn translators call everything 'he's and JUST Virizion, Espeon and Aria Meloetta 'she's'? Kinda bullshit and sexist if you ask me. (Yeah that's right, Aria Meloetta is referred to as female and Pirouette is referred to as male even though theyre THE SAME POKEMON AND BOTH LOOK FEMALE IDFK.)
There's that, then the fact that there's so little Pokemon. I mean, all 5th gen Pokemon plus maybe 20 pre-5th gen Pokemon. I don't mind it all that much though.
-and then; there's nothing to do after you beat it. I mean like in Red/Blue Rescue team and in Exploreres of Time/Sky/Darkness there was after-game story stuff and many dungeons to explore. there's not a lot after the main story in this. But that's okay I guess. I spent the after-game time evolving my Pokemon and trying to get others I wanted. (The Leafeons are still avoiding me though bawww)
Idk, I really liked the game regardless of the above points. The story was great and like all PMDs is a tear-jerker.

I didn't notice the gender-thing. I always saw myself being called she or her by the characters in the game, at least I think so... And I ironically chose myself to be Snivy and my partner to be Pikachu.

I agree wholeheartedly about the gender problem. I always play as a Pikachu ever since the first MD game came out, and I follow that tradition all the way to this game. It bothered me SO much that I'm a male Pikachu by default...that's kinda sexist (in the first MD games, the Pikachu doesn't have the notch in its tail, but that's because back then, there was no form for female Pikachus, and even then, if you're female and play as Pikachu, they call you a she, unlike in GtI, they call you a he in the post-game.)
I also agree with you about the game having less PokΓ©mon than previous games. That's the fun part in PMD games: recruiting each and every PokΓ©mon that exists (Kecleon's a pain in the ass, but still...) whereas in GtI, you can't even recruit some of the Legendary bosses plus the Kecleon that you can meet in random dungeons (that's right; if you're fighting against certain Legendary bosses and fighting hordes of powerful Kecleons just to recruit them, you're pretty much wasting your time.) Plus, since you're limited to just five Pokes to play as, you can't even recruit the previous starters from previous MD games (except for Eevee), so if you're like me and follow a tradition to play as a PokΓ©mon other than Pikachu in every PMD game, and that PokΓ©mon (like Charmander, Bulbasaur, others besides Pikachu) isn't in GtI, you're forced to break that tradition, which IMO is pretty annoying.
These two things are the reasons why I decided to just get rid of my PMD GtI game. Now don't get me wrong; I actually tried it, and the story's prettyΒ good, it's just that these two things bothered me to the point that I decided to stop.
I applaud to people like you that went through the game without those things bother you too much, but me? Bothered me too much (having Asperger's, small things like that bother me WAY too much more than it should have)
Sorry for the rant, just had to put my two cents in and to get it off my chest (that's how much it bothered me). And if I was bashing, I wasn'tΒ intending to, and I apologize. *disappears into the dark*

Those cons you said was EXACTLY my reasons of why this game isn't all that great compared to the older games, but I didn't even care at first cuz the storyline was amazing and a tearjerker indeed... but I wish none of these cons come by in this game, i have many fave Pokemon that dont even show up in this game and it pisses me off so much I went back to playing my Explorers of Sky game...
And yep I noticed not all Gen5 Pokemon even show up in the game.Β It lacks Ice types ;;;;

I totally agree!! I love the storyline and its 3D graphics but if only they put in Gender, ALL POKEMON, and other stuff we (expected) wanted in this game like they did in the previous games.... ;;;;;;

I know what you mean by the gender thing Blah! I just decided to make them both boys because then I'd have an excuse to develop a brotherly relationship between them. ^^ I just beat my game this morning. Jade the Snivy was the hero and the partner was Ludwig the Oshawott.

I just recently got the game myself. Played it some. Just saw Dunsparce get his heart ripped out. So far the story is intriguing. the pokemon all being assholes and making a paradise. but right from the get go I noted it seemed very rushed. Like the question test was gone. you just picked...the fact it's gender locked. wtf is that !? D:
but it looks so damn pretty. I really love how this game looks in 3d. and I hope they make another for the series but not so rushed and with more time put into it. As I love the pokemon dungeon series it's on of my favorite.

I also just noticed that when you do requests you can't do multiple at the same time like you could on the first one. That ticks me off so much.

They did have that gender option in the japanese version but they removed it for who knows why but for me I just went with the genders that I wanted them to be so it was good enough(cuz they don't refer them as any gender at all in the story so I could get away with it). How long did it take you to beat it cuz all the other pmd games were usually long and not being able to do much afterward that sucks cuz I loved continuing to play afterwards.
Also these were the things that pissed me off about this game so far:
Game has been too easy
Not much pokemon to recruit(and I esp. don't like most 5th gen pokemon but at least they put glaceon in there 
not being able to do multiple missions at once(I always did multiples and for me being able to do one at a time has been annoying)
and of course no genders(dunno why they removed that feature :/)
Anyone else think this series has been going downhill? Who is running the pokemon games now? I heard the original creator doesn't have control over it anymore since they got promoted is that true??

I agree, I wanted to change my partner Pikachu's sex into a female because I know that the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series has that tear-jerking ending that almost appears as a love story. But we couldn't change the sex and that was a bummer. I think Swanna and the gift pokemon where females as well. The story was great and the music was awesome. The ending was a tear-jerker as always. I thought the game's dungeons where a bit tougher but the bosses lost their toughness. The after game also bores me. I was hoping for some kind of after game story like in Time, Darkness and Sky but all you get to do is recruit and build paradise. I was sort of disappointed with this game but I still prefer it over Blue and Red.

Ah! You were fast! *THE GAME WON'T COME UT HERE UNTIL MAY* I still need to try it out myself but i know I plan to use snivy and oshawott. And I agree with the gender thing. They have always been big thing for e. In explrer of sky I recruited ALL my Random Doom pokemon and made dang sure they had the right genders and what not. It's a shame they left them out in this one (thank goodness I want to use al male team this time). I dunno, does Japan have he/she words? I know Finnish doesnt so maybe they wanted to stay gender neutral but then English made it more complicated? I dunno.
And the lack of pokemon sound a bit unfortunate but I hope the story is good. I have always loved MD stories and I hope this won't dissapoint either. 
And lack of after game? Well, I suppose I am okay with that. I don't have that much time to play these days than I used to so maybe thats better for me. XD

ah, yeah well it's not so bad for the wild Pokemon. theyre mostly seen as genderless it seems. So I think you'd be okay with recruiting other Pokemon characters. XD Worked for me and theyre not labelled as any gender.

I'm actually not even sure if I'll buy this one, which is a shame because PMD was one of my favourite games. It's just... the other two felt like the world was so vast and I could play for days and still have more to do, plenty of Pokemon to recruit and all.
And now we get another one on a system with much higher capabilities than the DS and Gamebody Advance and what upgrades do we get? 3D. Our huge variety of Pokemon we got as starters, the personality quiz, genders, after-story etc. all got trashed for a measly 3D feature. It feels so much more limited than the other PMDs.

theyre the same pokemon/person/character in this.
then she suddenly says "talk to my prince!" and changes forms to pirouette and is suddenly male and refering to the aria form as "my princess!"

I agree with all of the points you made. I was devastated that my partner (also pikachu) had to be a guy... I mean... the special trailer thing's pikachu was a girl! ;__; WTH pokemon. I also miss the hunger... since it added a bit of extra challenge. Although the dungeons got pretty huge early on its kinda helpful, I guess. And only doing one request at a time was pretty stupid. I... could go on with more stuff I disliked but I'll stop @w@;;
Other than its flaws, the graphics are pretty impressive, and the story is better than I thought it would be so far~ Though Sky is better, yes, much better
