About a week ago, I was sent a very short note by scorch04, requesting that I draw Momiji from Ninja Gaiden facing off against my original character, Karyana.

I won't lie to you: this one was hard, but the result looks solid. Finding the right references for Momiji wasn't that hard, but the fighting pose was a lot harder. Also, this is the FIRST active combat scene I've ever drawn, so drawing 'power lines' is not something I'm used to.

I wasn't sure how I'd draw Momiji's eyes, so I went for something I've seen often before - darkening the eyes to make it harder to tell what the character's thinking. In this case, I don't even know why Momiji would be attacking Karyana, so I decided not to show any emotion - save for the faint smirk.

I messed with my scanner's lighting functions and the result gave this shadowy effect, like something's off with this scene. Add the fact that I thickened the lines with a 5B pencil gives me a bit more impact.
