What's this? Why, it's yet another thing from my Pen & Ink class! (I swear to god I'll upload something in color soon.)I have a strict policy of never drawing fanart for class assignments, but - uh. But this isn't really... fanart. Per se. These totally aren't Lord of the Rings characters aged down to tiny babus. No~pe. If you think you see a bitchy preteen Legolas standing next to a pothead Gimli and a tiny Eowyn badly in need of braces.... you are wrong.

(As I was drawing this, I plotted out this whole AU where they are a group of pals who LARP around on weekends. And the guy who plays Legolas... well, his nickname since childhood has been 'Legs.' XD)

Ahaha, I admit, the only part of the story I've really figured out is Legs's and Gimli's subplot, where Gimli is on the school basketball team and Legs is one of those poncy rich boys from a rival school. I keep... doodling them hanging out in the margins of my notes.... Height differences are fun for me.... XD

He was indeed! I actually picture Legs's dad as this uptight, very exclusive sort of chap - but then in the summers Legs is shipped off to his mom's, where everybody runs about barefoot and shirtless and earnestly Communes With Nature. And so the poor boy is rather confused about the proper path in life.
Y-yeah, drawing this AU... would be a lot of fun.... *face in hands* WAUGH I HAVE NO TIME FOR SUCH THINGS I AM IN MY SENIOR YEAR, I MUST FOCUS ON GETTING A LIFE AND WHATNOT. Sigh.
Ah! But on a related topic - the impending Hobbit movie! Excited? Wary? Don't much care?

I'm excited too! Although perhaps not quite as excited as I could/will be, as - er - well, I confess - I have never actually read "The Hobbit." 8O I know, I know, scandalous, particularly since I love LotR with all my heart - I just... never did? So I plan to read the book as soon as possible, and then I can get properly fired up for the film.

Aw, that's all right, the movies are fabulous! (Though I do still recommend the book!) But there's no shame in not having read them - they are massive.

I did try reading them! I just couldn't go through the first volume, I got stuck when they were traveling through the woods>< I'm not affraid of the length of it, it just... discouraged me. maybe someday I'll actually get back to them and try finishing the tale^^

Aw yeah, the first half of Fellowship is... slow.... -_-; I mean, I love the books to death, but I still have trouble getting through that first bit. >_< But it is worth it! I'm sure you'll enjoy it when you do read it.

HE WAS THE ORIGINAL REASON I STARTED DRAWING THIS BEFORE I WAS ALL "Damn, what do I do about all these little-kid designs, I have no inspiration HEY WHAT IF THAT LITTLE KING WAS BABY ARAGORN" and then got distracted by my Sekrit Fanart. But I still do like the knight; he was fun to research.
