My friends and I go house hunting a lot.

It is not a good idea. I will say that straight out.

Unless you know the people who own it, or are sure that the foundation is steady and will not fall down on you, you shouldn't go around doing this.

Mainly because it's a good way to meet crazy homeless people, druggies, lots of bad people, most of which probably have some kind of weapon.

We of course are equipped with head lamps and gear to tear through the immense brush that surrounds these houses, they are pretty much all a good twenty or so miles from civilization and are in the middle of nowhere. (This is another reason why you shouldn't go house hunting unless you know the property or owners of the property. It's a good way to stumble into one of those crazy Texas Chainsaw Massacre moments where everyone dies.)

So. Before you all jump in your cars and go looking, you can't say I didn't warn you.

Oh, and never go by yourself. It might be a bad idea to being with, but it's even worse to go exploring old abandoned houses by yourself.
