WTF you ask? Well basically the US and Canadian government is full of greedy bastards who decided that it would be a great idea to let wealthy trophy hunters to hunt down polar bears if they pay a large thumb of money for a license.And of course how can anyone possibly live in this world without a polar bear head hanging on the wall? Better shoot one before they go extinct from the melting ice caps right? Because then there'll be just a boring deer head on the wall instead and how can anyone live with that? You're not a real man until you have enough muscle strength in you finger to pull a trigger because that's what defines manliness, without a doubt!
I'm just full of bitter sarcasm right now. If you're not a "real man" and believe polar bears shouldn't be become stuffed heads on the walls, then you can help by donating to [link] They are currently working on suing the government and they need your help to make it happen. (And yes, this is all true and not some scam, check out the link and confirm it yourself. The Defenders of Wildlife is a trustworthy organization that has existed for decades. They're like the ASPCA for wildlife.)

and the bear is no trophy it is an understanding among the inuit that animals are our equals in every right
my father told me stories from his father and so on that when we hunt we are to respect animals not hate or lord over them when I hunt I sing to what ever animal I catch a song saying im sorry and thankful

There's all this talk about how global warming is destroying the habitats of Polar bears- but there's something far more threatening to them than that. i support saving the polar bears not only because it's very important to the world...but it's kinda important to me. i have a stuffed polar bear that i got from my mother one christmas made of recycled insides and it really meant a lot to me. i want my future generations to know what dave, my stuffed polar bear, is. very beautiful picture, by the way.

Most of the money that goes to Polar Bear hunting back then(2000) use to go to the clans/tribes that brought the Americans to the site of a Polar Bear.
Polar Bears are vulnerable in their world status, seeing as breeding in captivity is successful. Thus Polar Bear hunting will most likely never be stopped unless the government actually looks at the rate of Polar Bear births and deaths.
It's funny because Lions are also on the same list as Polar Bears, and they're being more protected than Polar Bears despite that Lions attack, kill and eat more humans than Polar Bears do.
Other than that, you can't really wipe the greed from people. Humans have it tuned into their genes now, they all just want, want and want.
Personally, if I was offered a Polar Bear skin I'd take it.
It's just as important to preserve them in life as it is in death.
If I could get a polar bear pelt from an already dead one then yes, I'd do that. A problem bear who was shot, yeah. But usually missions to remove the bear into a better place works, it's rare when it doesn't.
I'm all for not hunting animals with a Polar Bear's status but can't really be against hunting as it's too common of a sport. And taxidermy is important too, a lot of people are greedy about it but others actually have a passion for preserving animal remains.

We have a constitutional republic, not a democracy. And for a reason. Democracy can often lead to mob rule (i.e. a bunch of misinformed protestors create a rule banning the hunting of a species). We have a balance of powers among 3 branches. The Legislative Branch (the people WE elect) is in charge of making laws. I agree that an endangered species should be protected, but according to the laws made by people WE eletcted in Congress, it is legal to hunt certain animals not on the endangered species list. There are so many animals that become endangered or extinct, and not all because of humans. Why aren't we out protesting for them? If you don't want 'fat white selfish leaders' in Congress, vote for other people. I am white, a huge chunk of our population is obese, so I find it minorly insulting that one reason not to like people is that they are fat and white. Feel free to write to your Congressman about this, create petitions, etc. But this is not truely all the Government's fault.
But aside from that, beautiful picture, and I wish good luck to the polar bears.

Wow, this is such a beautiful piece of art. Props to you for taking the time to put forth awareness and money towards this good cause.
I don't know if this was true -- since i'm at college, and I haven't seen news, and I don't really read the news online; Aparently the Governor of Alaska ( that lady that was just chosen as a running mate for McCain ) made sure that Polar Bears weren't on the Endangered list so that they could dig for oil in Alaska, even though their last failed attempt at oil rigging in the colds obviously proved to be a failure ( oil spill years ago by exxonmobile )
So no, the Polar Bears aren't endangered because we have a bunch of greedy shits running our country, that're more concerned about how much oil we have to pollute the earth and basically make the ice caps melt more. Lets stop looking in the past and look forward to improving on new energies! Then the polar bears will have many more decades to live alongside us.
