and I made a cosplay of La Muerte from the Book of Life
Went to Albuquerque Comic Con in it yesterday and it had a great reception!

These are fantastic! How difficult was it wearing the big hat? Did the candles make it any heavier or more difficult? And how long did this take to pout together?

Thank you!! Not very difficult at all! It is a foam core base, so it wasn't too heavy, but wearing it for prolonged bits of time was a little hard. The candles are paper, hot glue, LEDs and wire, so they are not heavy. They were handmade and wired just for that reason, so thankfully they did not add much weight. This entire cosplay took around 2 months of work, mostly on the dress because neither of us has made a gown from scratch before, but it was an awesome learning experience XD

It was definitely worth the work! I want to make a cosplay soon. Not sure which of my ideas I want to start first.
