You know what the biggest Joke would be... Joaquin Phoenix not getting an Oscar for his performance. Β
The score is outstanding, really painting a picture of a mind that is scarily descending into madness.
I didn't know what to make of his costume + make up design when I first saw it, but after witnessing the Movie - I'm probably in a minority here - it kind of feels like a beautiful blend of Cesar Romero and Heath Ledger's take on the character, almost like a strange tribute to TV/Movie incarnations of the character through the years.
Gotta say, I love your colouring of the backdrop. I think I can remember that exact palette during that scene towards the finale. But of course, look who I'm talking to... the Queen of Colours

How ironic is it that this Joker has become a symbol of anti-government movements in Lebanon, Chile, Hong Kong, Iraq, Bolivia, and even in the USA when he doesn't even look like the kind of clown that could start a movement?
He killed those guys because they were awful. Everyone is awful these days, its enough to drive anyone crazy.
