Description Here's the fifth and final of the five classes of spaceships in Star Pirates, the Dreadnaught class. Full name: Rayburn Tactics, Freight and Mining "Dreadnaught" class battleship
Length: 413 m Width: 287 m Height: 107 m This image shows a Mk II.

Like the Frigat, the Dreadnaught does not have the same footprint as the original ship's icon. The dimensions would have been too square and I felt it wouldn't give the necessary sense of size and impressiveness. With the Warship, which is a pretty big ship, I kinda felt that I had to put too much emphasis on the wing structure and not enough on the main hull. So the Dreadnaught has a much longer hull and more complex superstructure.

I learned a lot about making greeblies. In Sketchup, there are no plugins to make 'm for you and greeblies have always been a weak point of mine, just like hull plating. I'm very satisfied with the end result here, also with the wicked red-on-white flame job of this Mk II.

I boldly tried out a larger contrast between light & dark shadow settings (thanks to ) and together with the background I think it comes out very well.

The gun emplacement is sideways, with the gunports running the width of the hull. This way the crew can position every gun on one side for a massive piratey defilΓ© fire, or distribute them left and right as they see fit.

One of the coolest buckets ever to have departed the SU shipyards. IMHO this is your greatest design yet mate. It's very cool to see how you improved yourself.
