Some of you demanded a conclusion so...

As Zim approached the Dib's base (to him 'base,' to us home) two or so hours after he had left him with the PAK, the first thing he noticed was many black vans and what appeared to be authority hyoomans everywhere, carrying briefcases and talking on mobile phones. Zim quickly ducked out of view behind a nearby bush, not having his disguise in place. He looked about for the Dib, but could not see him, before his attention was drawn to the front entrance as Membrane and one of the authority hyoomans stepped out. Zim's antennae perked as he caught the last of an apparent discussion.

"... just ran off. I don't know where... h-"

Zim could make out, before realizing this might have something to do with the Dib. He quickly extended his spider legs and rushed from the scene, calling his friends name.

"DIB? Where are you?"

He went back to his own base, thinking the Dib might have gone there, but when he checked inside all he found was GIR. Not bothering to ask as he knew he would most likely waste another hour just getting an answer out of the insane robot, Zim ran from his home. He cringed a little as he PAK warned him of the current time. The first fleet was going to arrive within the next two hours, or possibly sooner, and Zim didn't want to think about how many lifeforms would be wiped out from that fleet alone. He paused for a moment and just looked around blindly, before trying to think of all the possible places Dib could have gone. The skool was the first thing to cross his mind.

Zim jumped the fences of surrounding neighbours and rushed towards the skool, being careful not to be seen by random hyoomans out and about. He went up to the entrance, but it was locked. Growling, Zim jumped back down the stairs leading up to the doors, and went around to the side of the building.

He stopped in his tracks at what he saw around the corner.

"Dib..." he said softly, recognizing the blue smiley shirt and ocular enhancers upon the foreign Irken's face. But his attention was drawn to the back of the creature, the blue themed PAK now in place upon it.

The Irken looked up at him and two brown eyes stared back at him.

"Zim..."

Zim retracted his spider legs and peered down at him for a moment or so and the two stared at each other before Zim went over and sat down beside him.

"You... " Zim trailed off, somewhat speechless.

"I... I went home Zim... I... I tried to tell them... dad and Gaz... that they were coming. They didn't believe me..."

Dib spoke slowly.

"Gaz ran off somewhere and then dad tried to take the PAK from me. He wanted to examine it but I fought against him and took it back, but I ended up tripping on the way up to my bedroom and the PAK went up into the air and fell onto my head.... the next thing I remember was intense pain in my back and the PAK attaching itself to me... but then I blacked out." Dib swallowed a little.

Zim moved closer to him. "What happened?"

"When I woke up I was strapped to a table. Dad was leaning over me and all these people... I think they were from the FBI... or the Swollen Eyeball Agency..."

Zim thought back to the cars he had seen at Dib's base.

"Then dad started telling them he had found me and that I had taken his 'son' and was impersonating him. I tried to tell him that it was me, but they tried to put needles into me... I managed to escape the restraints and ran to my room, but I barely made it out of there after a few minutes... they fired all these tazers at me Zim... I don't know where Gaz went... but... but dad... he... didn't recognize me... he just called me an alien... and... and..." Dib paused and tears pooled in his eyes. Zim reached out and placed a hand on Dib's new green-skinned, three-fingered one.

"If they catch me, they want to... kill me... kinda ironic, huh..." Dib said quietly, almost laughing a little but it was hard to tell.

Zim sighed. "You don't need them Dib... what have they ever done for you besides ignore you?"

"But, they are my family Zim. The treat me as though I don't exist half the time but..."

Zim shook his head. "Your Irken now, Dib-smell. You are no longer one of your own kind. No matter what you feel towards them, they will hate you. If your own father didn't recognize you... then nobody else is going to."

"But... Gaz... she knows about you."

"She will most likely call you those names, or not care."

Dib closed his eyes, knowing deep inside, even though as much as he didn't want to accept it, that Zim was right. Zim watched him closely, noticing a backpack beside him.

Dib opened his eyes a few minutes later and noticed Zim looking at it.

"Oh... well, I didn't have very much time to get my stuff. I just managed to get the essentials before I had to get out of there..." Dib wiped at his eyes. "They eventually got through the door even though I'd locked it."

Zim just squeezed his hand tighter. "Come on... we really need to get going. The first fleet will be here in less than two hours..."

Dib looked at him, but reluctantly stood up. "Isn't there anything we can do?" he asked, cringing a little in pain. His body was still very sore and he could feel that horrible metal penetrating into his back and deep into his spine.

Zim shook his head. "If there was, I would have already done something... I promise."

Dib just nodded. Zim picked up his backpack for him.

"The one thing that all species of the universe must adapt to is change, whether it be for good or bad. This is a new life for you now, Dib-ex hyooman. But remember you won't be alone. Because you're with me now. And I can promise you, it will be a good one."

Dib smiled a little for the first time since the change. He held Zim's hand tighter as they started to head to Zim's base and Voot. As they walked, and hid in various hiding spots while at it to avoid being spotted, he looked around his neighbourhood and tried to imagine what it would look like later that day. He just couldn't do it and instead opted for the beauty of what it was. He could feel his heart beat a bit faster, not only out of fear of what was about to happen, but also in excitement of his new life with Zim.

In the far distance, ships began to approach earth's atmosphere.

I noticed that two people were having a small discussion about how PAK's are not compatible with human DNA. That is true yes, and is proven in '10 Minutes to Doom,' but considering Zim took this PAK fifty years ago, it's an older design, hence the blue colour. Since it, the PAK's developed at the smeetery have changed considerably thanks to the Tallest. Zim has in fact not modified this particular PAK at all. It is just an older design and Zim knew that it would most likely be compatible with Dib's DNA considering it hasn't had an upgrade. I hope that clears things up

And this is all totally made up by me of course lol. If you think it's stupid, that's not my problem, but there would be no creativity if everything was exactly true to the show lol. Besides, I've always like the idea of Irken Dib XD.

What do you think of this little saga so far?"
