Description Fëanor and the Silmarils, with the two trees in the background. The quote is "If I must break them I shall break my heart," said by Fëanor of the silmarils when the light was extinguished from the trees and the silmarils were requested by the Valar.  Fëanor holds one aloft, as if offering it to Manwë, but keeps the other two concealed behind his back.

This piece is 20x30 inches and the paper used is iridescent, so the trees and silmarils change colors depending on the angle, allowing the trees to 'wax and wane' as they are meant to. (I was inspired to do this after seeing CateWolfe’s Silma-children art - ✵ An Anglo-Saxon name, meaning elf-stone. ✵ — Silma-children (tumblr.com)  -because that art made me think of this quote.)
