I am from the world,I don't know how I got here.
I am from repressed memories;
Vague flashes and images of a stranger's childhood.
I am from lent ears and cold shoulders.
I am from everyone I have ever met,
And those who I wanted to meet.
I am from hard lessons and friendly wisdom.
I am from the present,
In the body of someone I feel like used to know,
Even though I wish I didn't.
I am from the past's regrets.
I am from isolation.
I am from a prison from which I couldn't escape,
Because I was afraid of the outside.
I am from the back of the classroom.
I am from laughs and tears.
I am from smiles and scars,
That have chiseled my mind and soul.
I am from the world.
