I agree with all the other suggestions about the clothes and highlighting , I would just suggest , if you want a sunset background , instead of using a gradient for the sky like you've done here , why not try painting out one. There's tons of sky tutorials here that you can work from.

Yeah a sun set is what I was aiming for. My plan is to either paste a photo of a scene or draw and color a scene. THANKS for the comment. Glad you liked it.

I like how the skin colour came out...skin is such a pain in the butt to get right! I agree with the white highlights it gives the effect of plastic or shiny leather. I like the umbrella but i would darker the center of it a little more with shadow...make more realistic, if that what your wanting anyway. The eyes came out nice too. I wont comment on the lower half...lol.

I think you shouldn't use white for highlights, the cloth looks so... nylon-like with that. Use a bit lighter blue than the color of the clothes instead.

It doesn't look like that, I think. You should use pictures of a silk cloth as a reference, and you'll see that silk doesn't shine like that.

It's your decision what to use for it. But you asked for advice, so I made my opinion. On the pictures you linked I can't see any highlights that look like the one on your drawing. But you know what you do and how.

I would like to see that. If you just update the picture, let your watcher know about the changes.

no prob thanks for all the support man. I didn't mean to argue I was just trying to get my bearings. Thanks again...I'm having trouble with the layers trying to create a back ground and a sky.

I don't know how to do that. You should make a coloring with many layers, if you do that it cant be a problem to make a background layer. But if you havent done any layers yet, its almost impossible or at least hard work to add a background.

no they are all on layer. I just added the back ground as a another layer and made the rest more visable. Yeah I had about 20 layers in the pic. I'm uploading the new one now. Thanks for the help.
