Led by Kaz, and known collectively as "The FreeShades," each one is a Shadow Person with a unique defect: their connection to the Void is so weak, they are unable to fade in and out of reality like most other Shadows do (save for Kaz). Once shunned as the outcasts of the Void, the Shades have become Kaz's personal militia after the downfall of the Seven Gangs of the Void - leaving the FreeShades as the only "gang" left. Along with always having the "Agent" prefix in their name, each Shade is named after the weapon that they specialize in (except for firearms, which are considered a 'universal' weapon in their ranks).

Agent Spear is the most calm/cautious of the group. Having been dragged into many of Claw's misadventures over the years, Spear has learned to keep his distance, backed by his signature weapon, 'Poker'.

Agent Shortbow is the naive "little sister" of the group (technically, she's Longbow's little sister). Despite the fact that she's 387 years old, she's actually the youngest of a trio of Shadows who also specialize in archery, due to the Shadow People having a very long lifespan. While she isn't much of a fighter, her skills at close range are pretty lethal. She's also the only FreeShade who (secretly) specializes in Chaos Hypno: a prohibited form of Chaos Magic that is widely considered by the Shadow People as being taboo in nature.

Throughout his time as a gang member, Claw has gone through a metric ton of ventures and exploits that almost always involve illicit drugs and gunfire. Despite being known as Kaz's "right hand," he keeps Claw on a short leash to ensure that he doesn't take things too far.

Agent Battleaxe is the well-polished "gentleman" of the group. Having a firm belief in modest handiwork, Battle has a knack for exemplifying the term "dressed to kill."
