Ashley watched in absolute horror as his love jumped off the ledge. Did he have a death wish or something? Did his life suck that bad, so he had to end it? Everything happened in slow motion when instead of landing safely on the concrete below the platform, Andy slammed forcefully into it and fell from his line of vision. Fighting the urge to run to his aid, Ashley continued playing the song, wishing desperately for Andy to just get up. If he wasn't too hurt, that is.

Finally, after a slow moment of heart-wrenching terror, Ashley's boyfriend slowly stood up with help from the bouncers. He recognized the pain on that beautiful face, but even as the paramedics forced their way through the crowd Andy started singing again. Ashley watched him closely, seeing the absolute agony take hold of him. But he also knew Andy couldn't disappoint their fans. So they went through the rest of the songs and tried to ignore the fact that their lead singer looked like at any second, he was going to pass out or puke all over the front row.

The last song brought them to the back room, where the rest of BVB and Matt Good were fussing over a pale and sweating Andy. Kneeling to meet his eyes, Ashley shouted, "What the hell where you thinking, Biersack? Where you trying to get yourself killed? Think next time, you ass!" He made his point with a sharp poke to Andy's ribs. Instead of laughing it off like he normally would, his boyfriend doubled over in pain and gave a choked off cry. Matt ran to get a bucket for his convulsively swallowing friend while Ashley anxiously rubbed his back, trying to get him to breath again. All the while, he whispered, "God, Andy, I am so fucking sorry." He just swallowed again, and kept his head down.

Matt sprinted back with the bucket and sat beside Andy, murmuring, "Breath, kid. Help is coming." By this time, the singer's lips were slightly blue and he took a gasping breath only to let it out in an agonized scream. They watched as he coughed up everything he had eaten that day, and when nothing was left he spit wearily into the now stinking bucket and whimpered. Ashley stroked his hair and whispered sweetly in his ear, keeping him pulled up against his chest to remind him how to breath. His baby said hoarsely, "It hurts so fucking bad, Ash. Make it stop."

Those words brought tears to Ashley's eyes. Swallowing his sobs, he held Andy close and came to the horrifying conclusion that there was absolutely nothing he could do. They just had to wait for the medics to patch him up. Hopefully, they would give him the good stuff. God, this was his fault. If he hadn't poked him, Andy's lunch wouldn't be in a bucket, he wouldn't have screamed… Slowly, Ashley's heart ripped itself into a hundred pieces and he knew the only person who could ever make it whole again probably hated him right now.

Minutes later, a paramedic was gently prying Andy from his arms. Tightening his grip, Ashley gave his boyfriend a parting kiss. The singer responded, though weaker than he would have liked. It was already agreed that Matt would ride with Andy to the hospital, since he knew there was no way he could face him after what he had done. No, he would drive there as slowly as the speed limit allowed. Or at least, that was the plan until Andy whimpered, "Ash.."

Biting his lip hard enough to draw blood, Ashley crooned, "Don't worry, I'll be there when we get to the hospital." That was a promise he would keep, no matter how much he was hurting inside.

Half an hour later, they were at the hospital. After a quick x-ray, the doctor concluded that Andy had broken both his sixth ribs and one of fifth. None of them punctured a lung, which was amazing considering the way he fell. Unfortunately, there was still the rather painful matter of wrapping the broken ribs. They agreed to drug him only after they were set just because of an Aspirin he had taken earlier for a headache. Ashley gawked at them, but they refused to change their minds.

Stroking his boyfriends hand soothingly, he willingly let Andy practically crush his hand and bury his face in his hair. Trying to ignore the whimpers and choked off screams, Ashley sang softly in his ear, trying to get him to relax. The doctors carefully and painstakingly set the ribs, then finally gave him exactly what he had hoped for-Vikadin. Despite his worry, Ashley was curious. What would a drugged-up, groggy Andy be like? He got his answer.

Entering his boyfriend's hospital room, he knocked lightly and heard a slightly insane giggle. Instantly, he froze and started backing away. However, he chuckled adoringly when Matt popped up behind him and murmured laughingly, "He's totally out of it. It's fucking amazing!"

Andy was lying back eyes wide with wonder. Seeing Ashley, the bad-boy singer smiled and sang, "You're pretty."

Finally, Ashley couldn't help it. Laughing hysterically, he and Matt writhed on the floor, holding their aching sides. It was just like Andy to say something like that when he was stoned. That was when he realized.

They would be alright.
