Nice simple clean lines. I believe every cat owner has sketched a similar pose to this, it's just so...'drawable'.

Thanks! Quite true, that pose is almost too easy for most artists!

It's a great way to start drawing animals, luckily cats do laziness very well and are happy to stay sationary for long periods of time.

Some cats will be stationary. Baron DID stay still allot in the last years of his life. I did try to sketch him - but, he always decided it was time to get up and walk off, when I was almost done with my drawing.

Lovely sketch.Love the oatmeal color background. It has as a nice scroll look about it. Ahh reminds me of my little cat Tinker who was snatched from me and abandoned miles away, and lost forever.

This is nicely rendered...looks a lot like the style utilized in woodblock prints!

lovely drawing in a very elegant style. the color of the paper gives this an "old book illustration" kind of feeling. love it!

I have a very big soft spot for puss-cats. I have my white purr-furr-ball upon my lap as I reply to messages and so on ... he's gorgeous, but doesn't sit still long enough when my pencils/sketchbook are out! And photographs - he runs and hides!

LOL - Baron was that way too.. he loved attention and was happy in any available lap. He knew better to be around me if I was focused on a project. He would just sit nearby, and watch as I work!

My puss=cat hasn't learnt how to sit nearby and relax. He thinks that me opening my sketchbook is a signal for him to come and curl up in my arms (he doesn't do laps, and he does NOT do any one else's lap - he's a totally anti-social kitty who doesn't like people, only me). It's funny when I work with soft pastels - he insists in rolling over my work and I end up with a rainbow cat! But I do have to watch him with my watercolour pans - he particularly likes cadmium yellow to lick!

Cats are great, each one a total individual!
