Dead Rising was a "fun" game at the time, (2006) you got photo journalist Frank West looking into a tip someone gave him, that lead to the game's amazing intro. Watching a zombie outbreak on a town, while you take pictures of some of the expected action scenes (if it were a movie that is) from a helicopter. That was FANTASTIC! But the game was hard, you were set on a mall that was full of those things and you had every available weapon you can think of (that you could find in a mall) and it was still hard. The game was meant to be played multiple times, I have no grudge with that. It was like an action RPG, leveling up while grinding increased your chances of getting through the story.

Here's what I hate in video games (in general)

Time restrains
Back tracking
No checkpoints

That's pretty much the recipe for Dead Rising so why do I like the game? Actually I don't. I liked Dead Rising 1's attempts but hated the game so much that I stopped playing it twice. The first time I stopped I was just tired of those convicts respawning after you killed them. Then a few months or even a year after that I decided to go for the zombie genocider achievement. That took a LONG time to get. I finally did and it unlocked Mega Man's weapon. that made the game a lot better since I could kill those annoying convicts a lot easier. So I decided to try and finish the game for once (I had already gotten multiple endings 'cause the game ends in 3 days) So I played through the cases and got to the last day then I got overtime. Now I had to backtrack but guess what, I made a couple of mistakes getting there so I didn't have the shortcut to make things easier. When I read I had to backtrack yet again I was too tired to continue so I left the game as it was. To this day I haven't touch it.

So why did I bother with Dead Rising 2? First of all they finally added co-op which makes almost everything better. On top of that the game isn't as demanding, you do get multiple side quests at the same time but they take a bit longer to expire than in the first game so you can do them at your convenience. But all of that meant nothing if the game hadn't improved, well they didn't change much, Dead Rising is a true survival horror game and you need those mechanics to keep it from becoming a zombie mass slaughter action game. So I downloaded the trial (since it was an XBLA game) of Case 0 and found myself enjoying the game. I was thinking this was definitely better than the first, read a few reviews and watched a playthrough from someone that got the game early (yes he downloaded it illegally but uploaded the HD vids to youtube so I can't be mad at him, made me realize I really wanted to play the game) I pre ordered the game (something I haven't done since GTA San Andreas) and got the ninja outfit. (mixed it with the SWAT outfit) That makes the game even more fun since you get the stealth ability (will be available Oct 5 as a $2 DLC if I remember correctly) and zombies won't be trying to bite your ass off as frequent. (except when you have to change clothes for at least 2 survivors) I haven't finished the entire game yet but so far it's been fun, love the characters and hate what happened to one of them. Mistake, they shouldn't force you to get Case West to see the true ending.

So anyway these sketches are sort of there in case I decide to make some DR2 fanart (highly doubt it) I could just finish one of them
