Description

Krobok was born in one of the goblin tribes near the wilds, near a place his tribe simply called “the marshlands”. From a young age, he was found to be a quite capable warrior and was trained as such. He befriended a monitor lizard, to the dismay, and then relief, of his fellow tribesmen. They would often be seen training together.

At the time, the tribe was just starting to open to the rest of the world, after many years of contacts, negotiations and conflicts of interests. This would lead to a steady and sometimes lucrative trade between the tribe and nearby cities, and, more importantly in this case, it led to a direct cultural contact between the tribe and the rest of the world. While most goblins in the tribe were somewhat weary of the outsiders, but Krobok, on the other hand, was fascinated by them, going out of his way to talk with them and get to know them, sometimes to the outsider’s annoyance. One day, a priestess arrived to the tribe. Krobok promptly went to talk to her whenever he had free time, and the priestess was happy to satiate his curiosity. She would eventually teach him how to read by using the tales of various famous knights, some more factual than others.

Filled with inspiration, he was set on trying to emulate these stories, and eventually, become a knight himself. He would spend days training combat with his lizard friend. By sheer determination, luck and a lot of pain, he managed to master the art of riding and lance combat, and both his mount and himself could coordinate powerful charges. Still… he felt like there was something missing, and he couldn’t quite tell what. He would then realize that he had gotten as far as he could. He now needed to forge his own path. He then decided to travel around the world, to learn, train and become a knight worthy of legend. He would leave his tribe behind, with promises of coming back in glory, and bearing gifts.
