Well I've been working towards doing something big with the cats. This is closer to what I want to do with them. So I've honed their designs to a place where I think I like them.I plan or hope to take this a step further next year. At which point I'd do a new book of sorts for them. The idea would be to layout a whole new take on their story. With new cats more cats and a potentially much better villain.
I wanted a modern/retro sci-fi/fantasy look to the armor, so that's why the armor looks like it does.
The image is huge, so just a heads up if you download it. Eventually I want to make a poster out it.

Pumyra needs more love. Which I plan to give her when I work more with the cats. I'll roll most of that out next year. Starting a second wave of drawings for them now.

i must admit what this looks really impressive... the sad thing is what whatever drawing (draw sorry my english is so weird) come after release of that crap "thundercats roar" will be looks nice in comparison... man your work is astonishing and really its a great art tribute!

Thank you. Yeah it's sad what they are doing with the license. I'd take it in a different direction. I love the characters and believe they deserve better story.

Yeah I was trying to draw influence from both. The bigger changes I'd make would be to the story. The designs were good. They had great potential. I just don't think the story was strong enough in either series.

Thankya thankya. Yes... I really do wanna continue with this concept. I've got a few other cats drawn already and a ton of ideas. If I was able to do it all I'd pair all these profiles images with some splash imagery and story. And everything would be drawn out and detailed from the heroes to the villains - from the lairs to the vehicles.
But we'll see. I have a few more things to wrap this year up. So I may draw all the cat stuff up and color it up when I get some free time.

I'm not sure about the eyes on the chest armor. It looks okay on Lion-O, but on Cheetara and Pumyra, it's a little... distracting.
Other than that, it looks amazing!

Heh funny, cause I liked the design more on the female armor. This is actually the second stab at the armor (I redid Pumyra & Lion-o's armor.) I did want the lights to make it more sci-fi. I also had it where the armor's second tone was another color... which I thought was too much.

Heh yeah, got a few more things left to round out the year. Then it's on to next year with other potential projects. This is actually one of those potentials, as I want to create a small book just about the cats and their story.

Thankya thankya. I've drawn Lynx-O and I have ideas for Bengali. I think I'm going to do the characters in waves. So they'd both be a part of the 2nd wave. I also drew up a Snarf 
When it's all said and done I'd like to put it into a PDF so people can view it like a book.

I did draw out all the Lunatacs… like a year ago (I need to scan it, tis still in the sketchpad). Had a solid theme going for them. As for Nayda and Willa... kinda extreme... but I was going to make the amazons cats. That's also where I was going to have Pumyra, Lion-o was going to sorta have a quest to band the different cats and other species together to fight a biiiig ass fight against Mumm-ra. I'm thinkin' some epic battles would take place between the cats and lizards.
But I'll try to get off my duff and scan some of those concepts. I drew out the Lunatacs ship as well. I wanted to bring them in with Mandora. Mandora would be human, cause she came from somewhere else.

That does sounds interesting on Nayda and Wila but yeah i can see that as extreme also, but would be interesting to have that aspect of why there are humans on 3rd earth, also i kind would like to know what you would do with Hachiman and Pandora as well. But wow i am interested in what designs you have for the Lunatacs.
