Description This was a request by
The map is of late 1917. Poland officially became independent in 1916 under Kind Stefan II Habsburg, Polish army helps the fight on the Eastern but not the western front. A compromise was drawn up to in 1917 between the Kingdom of Poland and Lithuanian (under Mindaugas II) to divide Wilno and surrounding areas according to language dominance.

After an unsuccessful revolt in early 1917 by the Ukrainians in Lwow, and a direct threat to the Polish king's life (who was visiting the City at the time). Ukrainian units were sent feather east, and their under a Polish-Austro-German Agreement (Poland being part of this due to the heavy military involvement on the Eastern Front was made into a federal state (of Russians, Cossaks, Ruthenians and Ukrainians).

As for Duchy of Courland and Semigallia, to avoid any local revolts of the populous and driving them away from Russian influence a semi-independent state was created (army really was part of the German Imperial army) while the governance and police (plus paramilitary/reserve force) was separate.

Lithuania, Poland and Courland made a secret pact that If the war changes in the favour of the Allies, they will revok their allegiance towards the German Empire and simply change sides to preserve their independence, this was called "The Royal Pact" (Szalachecki Pakt - in Polish).

Polish borders include those occupied by Austria during the partition of Poland, while Germans kept their part, the eastern border of Poland sits on Wilno-Grodno-Brzesc-Luck-Tarnopol-Stanislawow ( on the river lines mostly) If there are any questions please ask him, I also highly recommend watching him he's an amazing artist and has so much potential for the future

Great map btw

Rest of Principality of Cieszyn and parts of (Teschen, Tessény), Szepes (Spisz) and Árva (Orawa) should be in Austro-Hungary not in Poland. Then Bielsko-Biała must be only "Biała" because Bielsko was in Principality of Cieszyn (but Biała was in Kingdom of Galicia - part of that Poland)

I would divide Vilnius along the river. Otherwise, the map, and its idea, are great!

This is an excellent map. the only problem I have with it is the way Vilnius is divided; I just hate it when cities are divided among nation-states. Besides that, great job!

"according to language dominance. " if so Wilno would entirely by in Polish hands while Kowno (Kaunas) be devided XD xD XD

Why are in the East some names with letter 'V', but in Polish language is no 'V' in the alpabet? Or is it english transcription?

The Polish enclave in western Vilnius looks awkward to administer. Would make more sense if there was a narrow Polish corridor between there and the rest of Polish Vilnius, imo.
