Awesome shot. Caught my eye coz it looks like a piece that's in the South-African National Gallery in Cape-Town. I'll search for it and send you a link if your interested.

That's very, very spiffy. Nice concept. Your model is great. I love the contrast between the skin and the plaster. It's the lighting and shadows I like best though. How many light sources did you use, may I ask?
^w^ Always nice to see good work from a fellow Kaitlyn.

Does she have vaceline on her body under the "withe texture"? (My english is poor, dont know how to call it)

The crop disturbs me, but I'm unsure if it disturbs me in the way that the art disturbs me in general or if it's an off base crop... I can't decide.

nit picking of course. This is a high class piece of art

Amazing! Very original and emotive. May I ask what you used for lighting and for a background?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

zalkenai In reply to Chronophobia [2005-12-19 18:02:50 +0000 UTC]

Yes, it is plaster gauze tape. Lighting is just one soft box, butterfly lighting (slightly above the model) and the background is my studio wall.
I use a process called reduction printing to achieve the exact tonality I want.

Awesome, it's very well done. It's Plaster right? I used to do face masks that way. The contrast and the pose are all contributing to make this an amazing photo!
