Cats do wat they want to do - which can be quite astonishing.
When I did my military service the barracks had many ferral cats, bacause our commander was also a cat lover and they got feed occationally.
Anyway when I was on guard-duty, oune of the tomcats followed our patrol around the whole barrack - aproxematly 4km. (And it was even raining a bit)
We felt saver for it, because we guessed the cat had sharper senses (especally at night) than we.
In the morning after our guard duty my commerades told the same story - the little tomcat was on patrol the whole night!
