I just adore the whole softeness it has *.* amazing work! Not to mention the gorgeous bed eyes. But I am really curious towards the way you shaded the skin. did you use the brush tool and then blur? would you be able to tell me the stats of both tools? (sorry for asking, but it's just that my version of SAI got messed up and I really am trying some tool settings that I like, but I am failing miserably ^^")

awww sadly I just recently changed up my settings and I honestly can't remember if I used the brush or water tool? I can't remember : ( But for painting I like to use both. I'm PRETTY sure I used the water tool for her skin but I can't promise you thats what I used. And I just play around with the bars until It feels comfortable. Its really just what works for you! I like my painting to feel a little smudgy but not too smudgy. I do a lot of soft blending with the tool and then changing the colors to lighter and darker shades and blending those into each other if that makes sense? Sorry I am of no help!

I just observe, try out/mimic and then do it over and over again until its fused into my brain. There really isn't anything else I could teach

How do you do the flowing hair, in particular?
Is it just a case of loose scribbling, or is there another trick to it?

haha loose scribbing! uhmmm I just studied other pictures of nice hair and saw for myself how the flow worked best. Basically study and observation until I knew what I was doing. I hope that doesn't sound cocky x__o; It comes so naturally now that I don't have a process. I just do what feels/looks right in my mind.

I've gotta take the time to do study hair pics. I've haven't been spending as much time on research on hair as I should, so it's like pulling teeth when I finally get to it.

This is just beautiful *_* I simply love all the shapes, the curves of her body, the curls of the hair, the eyes and lips... It's all so vivid and alive! But then the colours have this dark and pale shade to them somehow, and that along with the butterflies to me symbolize death. Maybe I'm overanalyzing, but this image has a very awesome symbolism to it, for me! :0 And I luff it~<3
