Description Orten Hider -Info and lore-

Orten Hider, also known as the "Skulking moss, Grassed lizard and Rocky" is an ambush predator at the normally varying height of twelve to twenty foot head to toe with a matching length in body but varying sized tails have been found to be five to ten feet longer than the body in some instances. The Orten Hider gets its name from it's founded place; Orten drop-off which is a large surface cave that extends for hundreds of miles in twisting tunnels and large very life and foliage rich caves. The creature despite it's large size is very easily able to hide in these enriched areas with it's grass-like fur, stone colored and striped legs and ability to host life on it's body with enticingly colored mushrooms and thorny, bristly vines. The vibrant mushrooms on it's body are like hair in the sense they can be cut or removed without pain and can vary in all shapes, sizes and amounts, same as the vines as no two are identical. Being said about it's body hosting life; a symbiotic relationship is had with these mushrooms. The mushrooms emit a form of paralytic agent as a spore that while the hider is immune to, acts as a paralyzing agent for its prey, therefore the hider can feed on the stunned meal, and it's own naturally formed nutrients help the mushrooms grow. Though attractive to look at by prey animals who forage mushrooms and grass these creatures are not to be messed with lightly. The Orten Hider uses it's large size to it's advantage as it buries itself slightly into the ground to blend in and appears as a hill of sorts full of food, then the small, but visible sensory organs on it's neck are raised slightly to feel when the prey is close enough to it's head for a perfect snap of it's mandible like fangs at the sides of it's mouth. The mandibles flip out then hook onto the predator usually at the base of the neck or chest, the beasts eyes will open and it's large maw will open wide and it's curved canines will pierce the prey and be shook to death if the bites impact does not kill it. The Orten Hider is not an actively aggressive creature despite it's viscous and deceiving tactics of hunting as Orten Hiders are passive towards it's own kinds presence. Though an attraction to prey, Drakes are aware of these beasts having on rare occasion coming to the surface world and consider them a rare pest as tracking the beasts is a task with their camouflage, but the eggs they lay are a desired find of treasure. Orten Hider eggs themselves are coated in a thick and waxy coating which has proven helpful for Drakes if harvested off the egg (without damaging the egg) as this coating is a potent predator deterrent most creatures will not eat, but can be effectively used as a medicine against certain beast poisons and venoms if enough is harvested off the egg. These eggs are found near hot springs in the Orten drop off caverns and rarely on the surface next to humid patches of plant life or close by water and typically a mother Orten Hider will remain by the eggs at a distance and loosely parent the young as they are very independent and don't need much despite being just a baby. Once the egg looses it's coating the first time it will produce more (much like sweat) until the egg is ready to hatch and the Orten Hider babies will either seek out their mother and follow them for the first few months or wander off somewhere dark to begin the repeated process of hiding in the ground and eating small prey.
