After nearly a month, I finally get a second comic done for GameFAQs' Summer Contest 2k5 and Board 8 . For those of you who saw my first one, you may notice that I changed the name of the series from "The GameFAQs SC2k5 Comic" to "The Board 8 Comic". I figured that SC2k5 is goin' by too quickly to devote the comic series to just that, so I broadened what my comics can cover by changing the name.

Anyway, about this particular strip:

First, the characters...
Tidus - main Final Fantasy X dude. Despite this position, he's really just a high-mid-class contender in the Summer Contests. People on Board 8 tend to not think very highly of him, and some would mockingly call him "Teedus".
The King of All Cosmos - the gigantic universal ruler in Katamari Damacy. In terms of the Summer Contest, he's fodder, but lots of regulars on Board 8, including myself, love him anyway.
ZenOfThunder - a Board 8 regular. He's the only guy who's more obsessed about the King than I am. I told him back when I made the first comic that I would do one for Tidus vs the King, so he had to wait quite a while for it.

And that last guy is, of course, me.

Now you may (or may not) have noticed that I didn't draw my own picture of the King. Doing so would have taken me a lot longer on this comic, and I probably wouldn't have been happy with the end result drawing, anyway. Instead, for the second panel, I took the King concept art and combined it with an "earth from space" pic. The fourth panel was simply a close up of a Katamari Damacy screenshot. They both turned out quite well. >_>

Even though I didn't have this done until now, I had the gag in mind since I made the first comic.

EDIT - The sixth panel cameoing Final Fantasy VII lead and SC2k3 champion Cloud Strife is actually an extra add-in. Previously, someone on GameFAQs (Melee Master89) said that the comic would be good if it also included something about Cloud's "compensation". It made me realize that that was the punchline I should've had all along, so I snuck it in.
