I wasn't even aware of "Miley" as an actual name until Hannah Montana got really popular with the kids over here. "Miley" is the first name of the actress who portrayed "Hannah Montana".

"Miles" was decided on because "Miles Prower" kinda sounds like "miles per hour". Had he been a girl, they probably would have called her something that didn't even start with the letter "M" and something in Japanese. A girl Tails was considered so Sonic could have a love interest, so I doubt "Girl Tails" would have been eight years old.

Really? I always thought Sonic was twenty. Yeah, I know his concept is about twenty one or twenty two right now, but I always got the impression that his character was supposed to be in his early twenties. He just always seemed too mature to be a teenager, but then I was homeschooled and lived out in the boondocks and didn't really have any other teenagers around to know how teenagers were "supposed" to act. Even the "Teenage" Mutant Ninja Turtles seemed too old to be teenagers to me. Come to think of it, I didn't really know how people my age were supposed to act. I went to kindergarten when I was six (my parents didn't start homeschooling me until the fifth grade) and was always the oldest student in my class, but I always FELT like I was the youngest. I never thought about it until now, but I think that feeling wasn't just towards my school classmates. Amy's age seems to vary depending on the source apparently. She's sixteen in one game and fifteen in another I have been told. In the Archie comics, she's really only eight or nine. She has the body of a teenager or adult via making a wish and having it granted, but it only affected her body, not her mind.

There used to be this cartoon about a boy who was apprenticing a chef. His mentor had a rival chef who had a daughter who was obsessed with the boy and adamant he was her boyfriend. Whenever she would see him she would say things like, "Hello, loving and caring boyfriend!" and make comments about how she was going to marry him in the future and be the father of her children. I never understood the debate about "canon" verses "non-canon" in terms of characters or stories that are fictional. Let the fans use their imagination. I only saw a few episodes and never really followed them so I wasn't aware they get married when they grow up.
