It is a lil unfair, they donβt even change the coloring to make a difference.
They also both have:
Pikachu, Buizel, and Joltick.
they even make the names similar for the ticks, Jolty and Volty. Then they make fun of it βoh everyoneβs getting a joltick now!β But when we say that they are similar, they get angry or upset.
And though they are all separated via personality, and some gender, there looks are very similar.

Oh, well it also represents their differences, in a further pronounced manner. Age, hair color, backstory.. but that whole thing supports their differences, which is needed in their comics severely.Β

If it were the same then I figured out what Mew Alex took. Also, it plays with the fact that they are in the same world. The fact that the same thing happened to both of them destroys the mystery though.
They probably planned this, and please donβt call someone a rip off for that sort of thing. Who knows, they might plan to be the same, but different. They both adopt a mew ability, but only Neon gets chosen for training, while Alex is left to go off on his own. Plus, the difference in personality of their companions differs a ton.

Also you should never be done studying writing. It is never ending, always changing. Xael is just adapting improperly. You arenβt adapting. People need to start taking feedback or else they fall behind, itβs sad when people donβt listen. I also want Xael to be more original, however I fear that he wonβt listen.
