OP here and I want you to see
That being a nerd ain't easy
I've got intelligence but elegance is lacking
I'm slacking
I've got a summa cum laude
But no see me cum hot-tai
I've got thick rimmed glasses
But that don't put bring the asses
I've got a pocket protector but no protection for my heart
I don't know where to start
Looking for the girl who will truly see me
It ain't easy
But with my multiple degrees I try to bring the people to their knees filled with knowledge gained from college and the experience of life
Cause I'm a nerd
You heard?
I'm the kid you picked on in high school
But you know that nerds rule
We fix your tech that you wreck banging it up like a neanderthal
And that ain't all
We're the nice guys who finish last
Because we've got emotion and caring and all these things worth sharing
We've got love that goes above the call of duty
But it is hard to get someone to be yours truly
When you've got suspenders and an IQ of one forty
Where can we find a shorty
Who can ignore our social failings and read a book not the cover?
We need a lover.
Now I've truly digressed and this poem is such a mess
Let me try to impress
Like any guy we'd like to see you undress
But unlike tall, dark and handsome we won't keep your soul as ransom
We won't abuse or misuse
But still I have to be honest
So let me make a list
Of all the things that nerd guys may do
We play video games until the break of dawn
We read technical manuals that would make you yawn
We listen to logic and reason
That is to say we like watching the beauty of changing seasons
Not for the colors but for the science
We've got less reliance on sways of emotion
To give you a notion
Our favorite word is why
We'll say it and then stare off into the sky
Slipping into a day dream
You know what I mean?
Anyhow the moral of the story
Is that a nerd can be a thing of glory
And if one nerd can free-form this verse
Imagine what we could do if first
You gave us a simple chance
