Late comment, lol, but this just showed up in my inbox.

I like the eye. I think it's my favorite part of the entire picture. It really invites you in to take a closer look.

It looks like you laid down some graphite for the fur and then smudged it. Instead, try making short, rather uneven strokes in the direction the fur grows. You may have to do several layers to get it to look right, so don't get discouraged!

Lastly, the nose is the wrong shape. It should look a little like a box whose bottom is shaped roughly like a heart. Take a look at most dogs. The shapes are pretty much the same.

Getting traditional shading to look good on the computer is tough. Make sure the shading on your fur is smooth as possible (something you'll get after you build up a few layers of it). If you have Photoshop Elements, you can use the Enhance > Convert to Black and White to make graphite and ink shading a little better. (I deal with this problem all the time. DX So many traditional pieces. . . so few of them in postable condition. . .)

You're off to a good start. This was way better than I could do when I started drawing about a year back. You've got potential. Good luck.

First of all I would like to thank you for taking the time to come and tell me what I'm doing wrong and how I can improve on it. I really appreciate it.

Thank you for all the suggestions I will use them to better my art work. And thanks for the kind words as well!

No problem. I know how difficult it can be to get some meaningful feedback. I really do think you'll be a great artist if you just keep practicing. You'll see it, too, after a few more months, so long as you keep practicing regularly.

I do practice everyday. It's mostly just sketching and nothing I'd really like to submit here but it's practice nonetheless.

Hey, every little bit counts. You'll eventually have to move beyond sketches (at least most of the time), but they never really hurt anyone in the long run.

I really like it ^^ (especially since I can't draw animals to save my life) I really love how simple it looks, and how the blue stands out against the rest...I think the wolf's nose and snout could use some work, and maybe a few darker lines so I can tell what I'm looking at? (example would be to add some streaks for the fur)

Overall a very nice job! Keep it up

Thank you for the comment!

Fun fact, the scanner I have messes up the pictures most of the time. In reality The picture looks a lot better than it does on here, but you're right about the nose and snout I kinda skimped out on doing that =/. As for the fur lines, refer back to the comment about my scanner. They are there in the actual drawing, but the scanner refused to pick them up.

Thanks! ^_^

You're very welcome ^^

I hate that about scanners, mine tends to do that as well ^^

Yeah, there like a program I could use to edit picture to make them better?

Well you could use GIMP to go over lines and color things in...

Or photoshop to just edit the lighting and such
