Yeah, I'm guilty of the anime bug too. *cackle* I'm pretty much a rank amateur when it comes to personally showing my pics, but I hope to rectify that soon. *grin*This piccie is one of my faves from the series "Slayers," and blatantly shows one of my current coupling preferences of said series. ^__^ Done in chalk pastel on 11x14 textured paper.

As far as practice goes, I haven't had nearly as much practice with chalk pastels as people think. I think I've just been VERY lucky...they behave a lot like oils, in that they do well using darker background colors, and blend very well, making highlights bright and shadows deep and rich.

Wow! That's really well drawn. You are really talented in both drawing and coloring with chalk pastels. (Ya know, I've tried them before, but all mine turned out horrible. XD )

Thank you! ^^ I've always loved working in pastels, and I just sort of took to them the first time I tried them. I found I can get the most out of them if I use dark papers and use the shadows to the best of my ability. ^_^

I remember this pic ! I first saw it on Alyson's Z/A shrine ... and I thought,"Man, that's so cool," *drool* Oh, wow, I still love it. This pic makes me feel all Z/A lovey-dovey inside. I love the coloring and the rain droplets.

I did it when I was sick, actually. I distinctly remember sitting in bed, having to wrap my head in a bandanna so I wouldn't sneeze all over the pic. *laughs* It still resides in a place of honor up on my wall. ^__^

Heh, that particular pic seems to inspire memories in a lot of people...it's one of the first Slayers pastels I ever did, and still one of the most popular, I think. It's certainly one of my faves. ^_^

I was the one hosting this picture on my page while Zanne was the mysterious art goddess with pastel skills out the wazoo. What shocked the hell out of me was when she emailed me the second time claiming ownership and that she had been hesitant to send it to me because she didn't know if I would like it or not. I think my response was to send her an email containing something like this. " . . . . . . . . . . . . *stares blankly* YOU WHAT?! YOU IDIOT! OF COURSE I LOVE IT!"
The rest, as they say, is history. Or went downhill from there, whatever you prefer. ^_~ I have been stalking her ever since. ^_~

This was one of the first pieces of yours I saw, after that gorgeous profile headshot of Zel in the pastels (which I believe you have hanging on your wall right now). Back when the person hosting the site I saw it on didn't know your name so you were this mysterious art-goddess with the mad pastel skills. Ahhh, nostalgia, I am your bitch. I love this picture.
