Description Hot Rod was just a plucky young Autobot nobody until the day he got Optimus Prime killed and became his successor, transformed by the Matrix of Leadership into Rodimus Prime. Even though he inevitably got booted out of power when Optimus came back to life, he's always ready to step in when Optimus even more inevitably sacrifices himself to save the day.
